This is study is comprised of three approaches. First, the investigators will conduct a retrospective cohort study to determine factors associated with COVID-19 severity and complications and understand COVID-19 outcomes, including all-cause mortality, post-discharge events, and impacts of rehabilitation services (third aim). The second aim is a mixed-method study and follows COVID-19 patients with repeated surveys to determine patient-reported functional outcomes, health recovery, and rehabilitation needs after COVID-19. The purpose of this clinical trial is to learn about the safety, extent of the side effects, and immune responses of the study vaccine (called variant-adapted BNT162b2 RNA-based vaccine) in healthy children. The trial is divided into 5 individual studies or substudies based on age group and prior history of COVID-19 vaccinations. All participants in each of the 5 sub-studies will receive study vaccine as a shot depending on what group they are in. Substudy A design: Phase 1 includes participants 6 months through less than 4 years 3 months of age who have not received a previous coronavirus vaccination (COVID-19 vaccine naïve) and will receive 3 doses of study vaccine as their initial series, followed by a fourth dose of study vaccine. Phase 2/3 includes participants 6 months through less than 5 years of age who have not received a previous coronavirus vaccination (COVID-19 vaccine naive) and will receive 1, 2, or 3 doses of study vaccine, depending on what group they are in. Substudy B design: includes participants 6 months through less than 5 years of age who have either received 2 or 3 prior doses of BNT162b2 and will receive study vaccine as their third or fourth dose. Substudy C design: Phase 1 includes participants 6 months through less than 5 years of age who have received 3 prior doses of BNT162b2 and will receive study vaccine as their fourth dose. Substudy D design: includes participants 5 through less than12 years of age who have received 2 or 3 prior doses of BNT162b2 and will receive study vaccine as their third or fourth dose. This study will be observational only. It will provide real-world evidence generated from a representative and large-scale COVID patient base. The adoption, pilot testing and use of NIH PROs among viral tested patients with research purpose on long COVID will be unique and innovative. With the existing and proven scientific rigor, NIH PRO system will be adopted, then modified and tailored to form the long hauler specific, comprehensive instrument, helping generalize future knowledge regarding COVID-infected patients. Rationale: The highest rates of coronavirus disease (i.e., COVID-19) vaccine hesitancy in the US are among young adults (YAs) aged 18-25. Our preliminary studies show that social norms - perceptions of peers' vaccination attitudes/behaviors - are most strongly related to YAs' vaccine intentions/uptake. Most YAs underestimate the perceived importance of vaccination and their peers' intentions to be vaccinated. The proposed research will develop and test an intervention to correct misperceived norms for vaccination hesitancy and uptake. Methodology: Rapid prototyping with 20 unvaccinated YAs will help refine the content and design of the online intervention. Then, a diverse national sample (N=600) of unvaccinated YAs will be randomized to treatment or an attention-matched control. The treatment condition will receive personalized normative feedback (PNF) designed to correct normative misperceptions for vaccine hesitancy and uptake. Normative feedback will be derived from the US Census Bureau's Household Pulse Survey. Follow-up surveys will be administered at 1, 2, 3, and 6 months to assess key outcomes including vaccine uptake, intentions, and reasons for vaccine hesitancy. Aims and Data Analysis: Aim 1: Develop and refine a PNF intervention for vaccine hesitancy/uptake with user feedback from YAs. Rapid analysis of qualitative data will involve looking for themes in responses. Changes will be made iteratively to refine intervention content, design, and delivery. Aim 2: Evaluate intervention efficacy for increasing vaccine uptake and reducing time to first vaccine dose, relative to control, over the following year. Aim 3: Examine mediators (changes in perceived norms) and moderators (intellectual humility, identification with other people and young adults) of intervention efficacy. A longitudinal moderated mediation model will be examined. Impact: Findings will clarify the causal role of psychological determinants of vaccine hesitancy (social norms, intellectual humility, group identification). If preliminary intervention efficacy is supported, this intervention could be a low-cost, and easily disseminated strategy to promote YAs' vaccine uptake and contribute to public health efforts to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Gazelle COVID-19 is a fluorescent lateral flow immunoassay and accompanying Reader intended for the qualitative detection of nucleocapsid antigen from SARS-CoV-2 in nasal swab specimens from individuals who are suspected of COVID-19 by their healthcare provider within 5 days of symptom onset. The study will be conducted To obtain data to measure the positive percent agreement and negative percent agreement of the Gazelle COVID-19 Test compared to Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR).The study will assess Gazelle COVID-19 Test performance using dual mid-turbinate nasal swab samples. This study will primarily assess Gazelle COVID-19 Test performance on symptomatic subjects (within five days of onset of symptoms) at point of care (POC). This is a multi-center, randomized, triple-blind, placebo-controlled (RCT) study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Dapsone in older adults, and/or in adult patients (≥40yrs of age) with at least one high-risk comorbidity, among those with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection. 3000 infected patients diagnosed with COVID-19, non-hospitalized at the time of enrollment, meeting all inclusion and no exclusion criteria will be randomized (1:1 allocation ratio) to receive either Dapsone or placebo tablets for 21 days, and will be followed up for 7 days after treatment termination for outcome assessment and up to 30 days for safety monitoring. This is a prospective, randomized controlled trial that will evaluate the effectiveness of two different targeted outreach interventions aimed at increasing Covid-19 vaccine uptake. Veterans who are eligible for COVID-19 vaccine receipt by priority status (based on institutional guidelines) will be identified. Veterans must be enrolled into Veterans Health Administration (VHA) care and meet age or illness institutional priority guidelines to be eligible. Veterans eligible for enrollment into the trial will be randomized in a 1:1:1 allocation at an individual level, using permuted block randomization (with random block sizes of 3 and 6) to the following interventions: Control arm - receives a text message with standard messaging Arm 2 - receives a text message with a message framed for scarcity Arm 3 - receives a text message with a message framed for improving the social good Read Less
