Physical activity is important to maintain health, fitness, and function in people with spinal cord injury (SCI) and social support is one of the most effective ways to increase physical activity participation. However, a large proportion of people with SCI are physically inactive and do not engage in recreational activities due to environmental and physical challenges. Many people with SCI also experience challenges with social connection, which may make engaging in physical activities more difficult. The investigators are offering a new online application designed specifically for people with SCI. The purpose of the research is to develop and evaluate a new online app, called SCI-Lynx, that would allow people with SCI to connect with other people and support each other in their physical activity, exercise, or other health or personal goals over a one-month period. This research will also evaluate how SCI-Lynx affects self-efficacy and social support for exercise and provide new information on changing physical activity participation and social connection in people with SCI. Background: - Cord blood is blood that is taken from the umbilical cord and placenta of healthy newborns after childbirth. The cord blood collected from a baby is called a cord blood unit. Cord blood units are stored frozen in public cord blood banks. About 10,000 cord blood transplants have been performed in children and adults for blood cancers and other diseases in the world. These transplants have helped save lives and improve treatments. However, not all available units of cord blood have been collected, stored, and licensed according to specific government requirements. These unlicensed units can still be used in transplant, but they can only be given as part of specific research studies. This study will evaluate the safety of giving these unlicensed units by recording any problems that may occur during and after giving the cord blood. Objectives: - To test the safety and effectiveness of unlicensed cord blood units in people who need stem cell transplants. Eligibility: - Individuals who are scheduled to have a stem cell transplant. Design: Participants will be screened with a medical history and physical exam. Participants will receive the cord blood unit as part of their stem cell transplant procedure. The transplant will be performed according to the current standard of care for the procedure. After the transplant, participants will be monitored for up to 1 year. Any problems or side effects from the transplant will be treated as necessary. All outcomes will be reported to the National Cord Blood Program and to the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant. Read Less

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of LF111 and drospirenone (DRSP) 3.5 mg chewable tablets on bone mineral density (BMD) at the lumbar spine after 12 months (13 medication cycles) of investigation in comparison to non-hormonal contraceptive methods. Secondary objectives include further evaluating the impact of LF111 and DRSP 3.5 mg chewable tablets on BMD and bone turnover after 12 months (13 medication cycles) in comparison to non-hormonal contraceptive methods and assessing the general safety and tolerability of LF111 and DRSP 3.5 mg chewable tablets in comparison to non-hormonal contraceptive methods. This study will evaluate the safety and tolerability (including reactogenicity) of candidate vaccine A244/B.63521 with Army Liposome Formulation (ALF) mixed with the saponin QS-21(Quillaja saponaria-21) (ALFQ) adjuvant. The purpose of this phase I randomized, double-blind clinical trial is to optimize vaccine adjuvant ALFQ dosing by assessing safety, reactogenicity, and immunogenicity. Safety and tolerability will be assessed with both clinical and laboratory monitoring. Sixty human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) negative participants will be enrolled to one of three arms. Vaccinations via intramuscular (IM) injection will occur at months 0, 1, and 2. All participants will receive A244 and B.63521 (300 micrograms of each). In addition, Arm 1 will receive 200 micrograms of ALFQ. Arm 2 will receive 100 micrograms of ALFQ. Arm 3 will receive 50 micrograms of ALFQ. Read Less

Constipation is a common and debilitating non-motor symptom of Parkinson disease (PD) that often precedes the onset of classic motor symptoms by decades. There is no standardized algorithm for managing constipation in this patient population, nor are there dedicated treatments. Studies suggest that constipation can affect quality of life to a significant degree, in many cases just as much as motor symptoms. There is an unmet need for effective treatment options for constipation in this patient population. If a subject agrees to participate, the primary investigators will collect some basic information including age, height, and weight. Intake of some general questions regarding health will be performed and each subject will complete some tests that measure walking speed, cognition, and balance. During these tests participants will be asked to stand from a chair, walk up \& down a staircase, walk over objects in a forward, backward, and sideways directions, walk around objects in forward and backward directions. After completing those tests, participants will be asked to repeat them while doing another task such as counting out loud, naming objects, or passing an object from one hand to another. Read Less

This study is designed to evaluate the effectiveness of endovascular embolization of middle meningeal artery following evacuation of subdural hematomas (SDHs) to assess rate of recurrence. The historical standard for treatment of subdural hematomas has been surgical evacuation through burr holes or craniotomies. Many of these patients are elderly patients who are high risk surgical candidates. A major concern is SDH recurrence. Recurrences require frequent imaging, and will lead to increased length of hospital stay, increased morbidity,and re-operations. There are increasing number of reports that suggest that a less invasive approach such as endovascular embolization of the middle meningeal artery using standard endovascular materials and techniques may reduce the risk of recurrence. The reported outcomes in the current literature have been very positive when endovascular embolization has been used without surgery or as an adjuvant to surgery. However, there have been no studies directly comparing endovascular embolization following surgical evacuation to assess if this technique can actually reduce the complications of SDHs listed above. The investigators propose to study this treatment process by randomly assigning patients who have undergone surgical evacuation of SDHs into a control and treatment group. The control group will receive standard surgical evacuation of the hematoma. The study group will receive surgical evacuation followed by endovascular embolization. Read Less
