This phase I trial identifies the best dose and clinical benefit of giving pemigatinib following standard induction chemotherapy in patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia. Pemigatinib selectively inhibits FGFR (fibroblast growth factor receptor) activity, a receptor that may contribute to the growth of leukemia cells. The genetic changes responsible for activating the growth of leukemia cells can be unique to each patient and can change during the course of the disease. Chemotherapy drugs, such as cytarabine and daunorubicin work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Poor emotion recognition has been associated with poor quality of interpersonal relationships, loss of employment, behavioral problems, reduced social reintegration, social isolation and even suicide. Deficits in emotion recognition are common in traumatic brain injury (TBI) and in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) but these deficits have not been well studied in Veterans with both mild TBI (mTBI) and PTSD. Currently there are no interventions for emotion recognition in Veterans with mTBI and PTSD, and interventions for severe TBI have lacked training of both facial and vocal emotion recognition. In a preliminary study of an innovative combination of facial and vocal modalities, a multimodal affect recognition training (MMART) showed promise but lacked attention training that is an essential component in recognizing emotions in our daily lives. Given the need to improve relationships and productivity in Veterans with mTBI and PTSD, a study is needed to determine the effectiveness of a MMART combined with attention training. Read Less

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the efficacy of topical 2.5% hydrocortisone in TMJ arthralgia. The main questions it aims to answer are: * How does pain reduction compare? * How does improvement in jaw function limitation compare? * How do side effects compare? Participants will * On day 1 be examined and report their pain level and jaw function limitation * On days 1-21, apply their cream four times a day * On day 21, report their pain level, jaw function limitation, compliance with instructions, and side effects. The primary objective of the present pilot, sequential, multiple-assignment randomized trial (Pilot SMART) is to determine feasibility and acceptability of delivering (from the perspective of the treatment/intervention staff) and receiving (from the perspective of the patient) an adaptive intervention for reducing rates of opioid misuse and preventing development of opioid use disorder in individuals hospitalized for traumatic injury. A complimentary secondary objective is to ensure the feasibility of conducting a future, multi-site, full-scale SMART.
