This protocol is a single-institution feasibility study to identify the molecular and epidemiological risk factors in the development of gastric cancer in high-risk predominantly Hispanic South Texas population. The study is broken down into two main parts: 1) To identify molecular differences in gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) between Non-Hispanics and Hispanics, stratified by age, and in benign, pre-malignant, and malignant gastric lesions; and 2) To identify environmental and clinicopathological factors in Hispanics associated with specific molecular changes linked to the development of GAC. The purpose of this study is to investigate the brain activity associated with non-motor symptoms of movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease and essential tremor. These movement disorders commonly have significant non-motor features also, including depression, cognitive impairment, decreased attention, and slower processing speeds. The investigators are interested in the brain activity associated with these symptoms, and perform recordings of the surface of the brain, in addition to the typical recordings the investigators perform, during routine deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery. The treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) in an accessible manner represents an unmet need for those with cardiovascular disease (CVD), given that patients with CVD experience numerous barriers for in-person treatment engagement. The research plan for the proposed pilot project will entail: (1) open study of the acceptability of the digital intervention (N=5), followed by (2) recruitment and randomization of 90 individuals with a history of acute CVD events and clinical levels of GAD symptoms to dCBT or a waitlist (Control) condition, using a 1.5:1 allocation (dCBT:Control). Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a disorder of development of the neural retina and its vasculature that can impact vision in vulnerable preterm neonates for a lifetime. This study tests high-speed optical coherence tomography (OCT) technology compared to conventional color photographs at the bedside of very preterm infants in the intensive care nursery, to characterize previously unseen abnormalities that can predict a need for referral for ROP treatment, or poor visual or neurological development later in life, up to pre-school age. Our long-term goal is to help improve preterm infant health and vision via objective bedside imaging and analysis that characterizes early critical indicators of ROP, and poor visual function and neurological development, which will rapidly translate to better early intervention and improved future care. Prospective, single center, open label, randomized controlled trial to explore whether digoxin treatment affects cytokine levels as biomarkers of inflammation in patients with acute alcohol associated hepatitis, digoxin administration and dose adjustment. The study intervention will be intravenous digoxin (renal-based dosing for maximum of 28 days) versus no digoxin in an open-label 1:1 randomized allocation of patients with severe acute alcohol associated hepatitis. The purpose of this study is to see whether programs that include both a patient and their spouse or a patient and family caregiver (known as a dyad) are helpful for families in which one member of the dyad has cancer and mild memory difficulties and/or concerns. Participant and their spouse or participant and their family caregiver will have six, 60-minute video-conference sessions which will be scheduled at their convenience. The investigator will loan participants a tablet computer (iPad) to use for videoconferencing and train the participant in its use. Participant and their spouse or participant and their family caregiver will complete three assessments - one before starting the sessions, one after the sixth session, and one after 1 month. Each assessment will include surveys, which the participant will complete separately from their spouse or family caregiver. In support of the long-term goal of developing new strategies to increase limb function after SCI, the objectives of this proposal are to: 1) Examine the behavioral and physiological effects of TESS on upper-limb muscles after cervical SCI; and 2) Maximize the recovery of reaching and grasping potential by using tailored TESS in a task-specific manner with motor training.
