Accelerated TMS for Focal Hand Dystonia
Recruiting
This study aims to investigate the impact of accelerated transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) on brain function and behavior in patients with focal hand dystonia. Previous research demonstrated that individualized TMS improved dystonic behavior after one session. Building on this, the current study administers four TMS sessions in a day, with assessments conducted in four weeks, twelve weeks, and 20 weeks after each session. The research involves 8 in-person and 6 virtual visits focused on fu... Read More

Spinal Cord Stimulation for Respiratory Rehabilitation in Patients With Chronic Spinal Cord Injury
Recruiting
Respiratory complications are among the leading causes of death in patients with chronic spinal cord injury (SCI). Our previous work showed that pulmonary function can be improved by using our original respiratory training method. However, the effectiveness of this intervention is limited due to the disruption of brain-spinal connections and consequently lowered spinal cord activity below the injury level. Our recent studies showed that electrical stimulation of the spinal cord below the level o... Read More

Cognitive Rehabilitation in Post-COVID-19 Syndrome
Recruiting
The first aim of this study is to determine the feasibility of delivering CO-OP remotely to individuals experiencing cognitive impairments that limit everyday activities in post-COVID-19 syndrome (PCS). The second aim of this study is to assess the effect of CO-OP on activity performance, subjective and objective cognition, and quality of life in a sample of individuals with PCS. The research team hypothesizes that effect size estimations will indicate that CO-OP will have a greater positive eff... Read More

Feasibility of a Mindfulness Intervention for Endometriosis Surgery
Recruiting
Endometriosis is a common cause of pelvic pain in women which has been historically under-studied and under-diagnosed. The goal of this research is to pilot-test the feasibility and acceptability of a manualized, single-session brief mindfulness-based intervention (BMBI) among participants with endometriosis-related chronic pelvic pain (ECPP) who undergo surgical treatment, and gather preliminary data necessary for future studies assessing BMBI's impact on outcomes in surgically-treated ECPP.
