Bowel Preparation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
Recruiting
This is a prospective randomized study of patients who are scheduled to undergo minimally invasive robotic gynecologic surgery. Patients will be randomized to require either pre-surgical bowel preparation vs. no bowel preparation. The effect of bowel preparation on intraoperative visualization, bowel handling, intestinal load and ease of surgery will be assessed. Patient comfort and satisfaction will be assessed.

Clinical Outcomes of the Endoscopic Resection of Premalignant and Malignant Gastrointestinal Lesions
Recruiting
To evaluate clinical outcome for patients receiving treatment of suspected premalignant and malignant gastrointestinal lesions at Interventional Endoscopy Services. The primary outcome is curative endoscopic resection. Secondary outcomes include resection technique utilized, rates of en bloc resection and adverse event rates, including infection, bleeding, perforation and death, and one-year survival rates.

Krabbe Disease Global Patient Registry
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to develop a clinical database of individuals diagnosed with Krabbe disease in order to determine which symptoms herald the onset of clinical disease in the various phenotypes of Krabbe disease; to determine whether level of GALC enzyme activity, or a specific genetic mutation predict the clinical course; and to determine which neurodiagnostic tests predict onset and/or severity of the disease.

HLA-Haploidentical Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Transplantation With Post-transplant Cyclophosphamide and Bortezomib
Recruiting
Now haplo stem cell transplant using bone marrow or peripheral blood is becoming more feasible with better regimens to prevent graft versus host disease (GVHD) like post transplant cyclophosphamide , tacrolimus, mycophenolate . Recently Bortezomib has also been shown to inhibit dendritic cells maturation and function and possesses a number of other favorable immunomodulatory effect that can prevent GVHD and help enhance immune reconstitution. this study is to assess the engraftment rate in patie... Azacitidine and Chimerism in MDS or AML Patients After Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant
Recruiting
Previous studies provide a rationale for administration of AZA after allo SCT for decreasing chimerism. The investigators hypothesize that azacitidine can be well tolerated after SCT and help decrease rate of decreasing donor chimerism and hence decrease relapse without increasing GVHD

Low Field and High Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging Assessments on Pediatric Patients
Recruiting
Hyperfine Research, Inc. has taken advantage of technological advances and developed an MRI device that is not only portable, but also uses a very-low magnetic field strength, \[less than 0.2 Tesla or approximately 10 times less\] than the field strength of conventional devices. This critical difference allows HRI to address MRI's core challenges by, first, operating at very low magnetic field strengths, eliminating the need for special rooms or shielding. Second, there are minimal safety concer... Read More

SHAPE of Portal Hypertension in Children
Recruiting
Early diagnosis of portal hypertension is difficult as symptoms rarely manifest until the later stages of liver disease. Both cirrhotic and non-cirrhotic portal hypertension can result in life-threatening complications, the most frequent of which is bleeding from esophageal varices. In children, variceal bleeds are associated with mortality rates of 1-3 %, while life-threatening complications have been reported in up to 20 % of children with cirrhosis. Despite the high incidence of portal hypert... Read More
