Corrective eye surgeries, such as Lasik, are widely used to correct focusing problems such as myopia, or nearsightedness. Often these patients develop other conditions like myopic maculopathy or glaucoma which require monitoring with optical coherence tomography (OCT). Since OCT is a light-based test and changes the refractive status of the eye (in the cornea or the lens), it can potentially affect the results of the OCT measurements but has not been sufficiently studied. The purpose of this research is to see if the Arthrex LoopLocTM device is better for capsular closure during hip arthroscopy than other treatments available. The hip capsule is the tissue that surrounds your hip joint. It stabilizes and supports your hip joint. During hip arthroscopy, this tissue must be cut through in order to perform the hip arthroscopy. Once the hip arthroscopy is completed, the surgeon might repair the capsule. Current ways of repairing the capsule include knotted suture that might irritate structures around the hip, leading to the possible formation of scar tissue and pain. The Arthrex LoopLocTM device is knotless and may lower the presence of irritation and scar tissue around the hip after surgery and might lead to better outcomes. Therefore, researchers will compare patients who had the LoopLocTM device used to close their hip capsule during surgery to those who did not have the device used, to see if there is a difference in their outcomes following surgery. Children and adults with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) have severely reduced daily activity compared to healthy populations. In adults, investigators recently demonstrated that lower baseline daily step counts associated with increased risk of hospitalization and worsening WHO functional class; similarly, reduced step counts associate with hospitalization in children with PAH. This application builds on our recently completed NIH-funded pilot mobile health (mHealth) trial in adult patients with PAH which demonstrated the ability to remotely increase step counts. The investigators now aim to: (1) adapt our mHealth intervention to the developmental needs and interests of adolescents; and, (2) determine if our intervention increases step counts in adolescents, providing the foundation for a larger trial to assess the impact on quality of life and clinical outcomes. Two recently developed artificial intelligence-enabled electrocardiogram (AI-ECG) models have been developed to detect aortic stenosis (AS) and diastolic dysfunction (DD). AI-ECG for AS has a sensitivity of 78% and specificity of 74%, and AI-ECG for DD has a sensitivity of 83% and specificity of 80%. However, these models have never been prospectively applied to diagnose AS or DD, which may be useful for patients and providers from a diagnostic and prognostic perspective and especially in settings where access to higher- level medical care is limited. In this study, we aim to determine the clinical utility of these AI-ECG models by prospectively applying them to an outpatient cohort and then completing a focused point-of-care ultrasound to evaluate those who are AI-ECG positive for AS and DD. The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if dorsally applied kinesiology tape is an effective conservative treatment for symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome and assess the potential performance effect of the tape color in first-person shooter esports games in esports gamers who exhibit symptoms that resemble carpal tunnel syndrome. The main questions it aims to answer are: Is dorsally applied kinesiology tape able to manage carpal tunnel syndrome-like symptoms in esports gamers? Does red kinesiology tape hinder or improve performance in first-person shooter esports games in esports gamers? Researchers will compare red kinesiology tape to skin tone kinesiology tape. Both will be applied on the dorsal aspect of the hand and wrist of the dominant upper extremity. Participants will visit the site 2 times to get kinesiology tape applied and complete a pre and post-test for pain and performance. This clinical trial studies the effects of dietary white button mushroom on inflammation (the body's process of fighting against harmful things) and immune cells (white blood cells) in postmenopausal women with both high body mass index or BMI (percentage of body fat) and high risk of breast cancer. The body is in a constant state of alert when inflammation lingers at a low level and becomes chronic, as with having button mushroom is a dietary supplement that may improving responses of immune cells (white blood cells) and decreasing chronic inflammation. Information gathered from this study may help researchers determine whether white button mushroom have any effects on body fat and breast cancer risk. Read Less
