This investigation is a prospective, multi-center clinical investigation. It is anticipated that a total of 50 subjects will be enrolled. Neither subjects nor investigators are blinded to treatment and the clinical investigation includes a historical control which will be compared to the Femoral Nail GT of the T2 Alpha Femur Antegrade GT/PF Nailing System. Total duration of enrollment, 12 month follow-up and analysis is expected to take 25 months. The clinical investigation has been designed to follow the surgeon's standard of care for femur fractured subjects, in addition to a 12 month follow-up visit. The primary endpoint of this clinical investigation is to confirm efficacy/performance at 12 months, as measured by the Lower Extremity Measure (LEM). Confirmation of efficacy/performance at 12 months will be based on an equal or greater (non-inferior) LEM score result of the Femoral Nail GT of the T2 Alpha Femur Antegrade GT/PF Nailing System compared to the T2 Femur benchmark literature. Clavicle fractures in children are mostly managed non-operatively since they have an overall high union rate (95%) and a "good" functional outcome following nonoperative treatment. However, the downside of such a conservative approach is that patients have to live with pain and disability until the fracture heals. To minimize this, fractures are usually immobilized with a sling. There have been no studies looking at clavicle fractures treated with kinesiology (elastic) tape. No adverse effects (skin irritation, redness, etc.) are observed with the application of this tape. Elastic tape has previously been examined regarding muscular advantages rather than for healing fractures. Since this tape should immobilize fractures better than a sling, patients should experience less pain and disability associated with their fracture. Read Less

Pre-diabetes (Pre-D) is a precursor to type 2 diabetes (T2D) and characterized by increased exercise fatigability of lower limb muscles, that can impede exercise performance. The cause for the increased fatigability in people with Pre-D is not known. Given the profound vascular disease present in people who have had uncontrolled diabetes for several years, we will determine whether dynamic, fatiguing contractions of the lower limb muscles in people with Pre-D are limited by vascular dysfunction at multiple levels along the vascular tree including the artery, arteriole, and/or capillary. This clinical trial involves a novel exercise training regime involving blood flow restriction to the exercising limb will be used as a probe to further understand the vascular mechanisms for increased fatigability in people with Pre-D and T2D. The long-term goal is to better understand what limits exercise and functional performance in people with diabetes to help develop targeted, more effective exercise programs. Read Less

This study will follow participants who are screened and confirmed with a genetic diagnosis of Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2E (LGMD2E/R4), Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2D (LGMD2D/R3), Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2C (LGMD2C/R5), or Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2A (LGMD2A/R1). These enrolled participants will be followed to evaluate mobility and pulmonary function for up to 5 years after enrollment for participants with LGMD2C/R5, LGMD2D/R3, and LGMD2E/R4 with a North Star Assessment for Dysferlinopathy (NSAD) ≥ 25 at Baseline, up to 3 years for participants with LGMD2C/R5, LGMD2D/R3, and LGMD2E/R4 with a NSAD \< 25 at Baseline, and up to 3 years for participants with LGMD2A/R1. Our objective is to identify novel options that are effective and safe in preventing perinatal transmission of hepatitis B in Africa. The REVERT-B study (Reducing Vertical Transmission of Hepatitis B in Africa) is a clinical trial designed to test a new strategy of using antiviral medication in high-risk pregnant women and newborns to reduce the risk of hepatitis B transmission. This is a hybrid1, effectiveness-implementation study of yoga-based exercises (YE) as an adjunctive tool for rehabilitation among persons with Severe Mental Illness (SMI). The two-arm randomized controlled trial will compare the efficacy of YE compared to the Wellness Lifestyle Program (WLP). Primary outcomes of the study will be self-report and performance-based measures of community functioning, defined in the investigators study as social, leisure, employment, and life skills functioning in the community. The purpose of this study is to develop and validate methods to use hearing aids equipped with embedded sensors and artificial intelligence to assist in the assessment of fall risk and in the implementation of interventions aimed at reducing the risk of falling, as well as to improve speech intelligibility in quiet and in background noise, track physical activity, and social engagement. The investigators hope is that the knowledge that is generated through this study will ultimately translate to the clinical setting and will help reduce the likelihood that individuals experience a fall, and improve the quality of hearing in individuals who wear hearing aids. This phase I/II trial tests the safety and efficacy of split-course adaptive radiation therapy in combination with immunotherapy with or without chemotherapy for the treatment of patients with stage IV lung cancer or lung cancer that that has spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced). Radiation therapy is a standard cancer treatment that uses high energy rays to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. Split-course adaptive radiation therapy uses patient disease response to alter the intensity of the radiation therapy. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies such as pembrolizumab, ipilimumab, cemiplimab, atezolizumab or nivolumab may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Chemotherapy drugs like carboplatin, pemetrexed, and paclitaxel work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving split-course adaptive radiation therapy with standard treatments like immunotherapy and chemotherapy may be more effective at treating stage IV or locally advanced lung cancer than giving them alone.
