The rapid increase of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) use by young people in the US and their potential to harm health, cause addiction, and serve as a risk for cigarette smoking or dual-use is alarming. The epidemic of ENDS use among young people in the US has been associated with the rise in popularity of ENDS products that are very efficient in delivering high doses of nicotine to users. Therefore, the investigators propose to study the effects of nicotine reduction (NR) on young ENDS users as a potential regulatory strategy to reduce the addictiveness and use of ENDS. The proposed studies are directly responsive to research priories identified by the FDA and specified in this RFA under Addiction; studying the "Impact of changes in tobacco product characteristics (e.g. nicotine formulation) on dependence". This project aims to provide an overview of this project's rationale significance divided into 1) scientific rationale and regulatory implications; 2) the need to respond to the rising trend of ENDS use among young people in the US; 3) the importance of reducing the addictiveness of ENDS; 4) the strength of our clinical and analytical lab approach for regulatory purposes; and 5) the strengths and weaknesses in the rigor of prior research about NR for ENDS. The ability to judge the locations of various objects from oneself during self-motion in the intermediate distance range (\~2-25m) is crucial for successful performance of activities of daily living, such as walking and driving. However, little is known about the mechanisms of visual space perception involved in judging distance, the focus of this project, in the planning and/or execution of self-motion in the natural 3D environment. The theoretical knowledge to be gained from this project will contribute to the scientific literature and provide insights into how eye and neurological defects could impair visual space perception, wayfinding, and mobility. The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate a significant difference in electrical impedance between normal, benign, premalignant, and malignant oral lesions using a custom device. The secondary study objective is to create a database of in vivo electrical impedance spectra and images of oral lesions. This will be achieved by collecting Electrical Impedance sensing data and images from two cohorts of patients: Cohort I will consist of 200 patients undergoing oral lesion biopsies and Cohort II will be comprised of 50 patients scheduled for oral cancer resection. The goal of this clinical trial is to prove the that miconazole oil works well on fungal infections of the ears, by comparing the drug with a placebo. The researcher or the participants will not know if they are getting the drug or the placebo. The researcher will show the participants how to use the drug or placebo. After 14 days of using the drug or placebo, the participants will be examined by the researcher and graded on how well the drug worked on the ear(s) fungal infection. Participants will also be checked and asked for any bad side effects from the drug or the placebo. Read Less

Patients with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) have a higher risk of low-trauma (osteoporotic) fracture that is 7-12 times higher than non-diabetics. The bone density of people with Type 1 Diabetes is higher at the time of fracture than in non-diabetics. This suggests the presence of underlying bone tissue mechanical defects. The potential benefits to participants would be knowledge gained about their bone density and the results of laboratory tests.
