This clinical trial compares the effectiveness of geriatric assessment (GA) guided interventions to accelerate functional recovery after chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy compared to standard of care (SOC) in patients 60 years and older with B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) or multiple myeloma (MM). A large number of patients diagnosed with cancer are over the age of 60, yet most cancer treatments are developed for younger patients. Therefore, older patients may be less likely to be offered stronger treatments, such as CAR-T therapy, due to possible side effects. Geriatric assessment is a multi-dimensional health assessment tool combining patient reported and objective measures covering physical function, mental processes (cognitive), and nutrition. Pre-treatment assessments may identify weaknesses in older adults and may guide interventions for physical therapy, cognitive changes and nutrition to decrease CAR-T therapy side effects and improve care in older adults with NHL or MM. The purpose of this research study is to assess the feasibility of using spesolimab in participants with moderate to severe pyoderma gangrenosum. Pyoderma gangrenosum is a rare, inflammatory, autoimmune condition which results in ulceration of skin. The study will also investigate the body's immune response to the spesolimab (when the body detects and defends itself against substances that appear unknown and harmful). Read Less

Investigators propose a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial evaluating the use of the use of Suvorexant in breast cancer survivors on selective estrogen receptor modulators or aromatase inhibitors with sleep disturbance to assess the impact on insomnia symptoms and quality of life. Breast cancer survivors have an increased risk of insomnia for which Suvorexant has the has the potential ability to impact to improve sleep related outcomes and cancer survivorship outcomes. Breast cancer survivors with sleep disturbance based on an Insomnia Severity Index Score (ISI) \>15 will be randomized to either Suvorexant or placebo, with both arms receiving education on sleep hygiene. This clinical trial evaluates whether gallium-68 (Ga-68) prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-11 positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) imaging is useful in differentiating between disease that has come back after a period of improvement (recurrence) or that is growing, spreading, or getting worse (progression) and treatment effect in patients with glioma. Patients with glioma undergo frequent imaging for assessment of disease status. After first-line treatment however, the correlation between imaging findings and tumor activity can be confused, and surgery is often required for definitive diagnosis. The PET/CT scanner is an imaging machine that combines 2 types of imaging in a single scan. The PET scanner detects and takes pictures of where the radioactive imaging agent (68Ga PSMA-11) has gone in the body and the CT scanner uses x-rays to take structural pictures inside the body. PSMA PET also binds to neoplastic blood vessels, including those in gliomas. This study may help researchers learn whether GA-68 PSMA-11 PET/CT is useful for improving detection of tumor recurrence or progression, as opposed to treatment effects, in patients with gliomas. The purpose of this project is to implement a pilot study to investigate the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a peer support specialist delivered violence prevention program for women in substance use treatment. The program entails a posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) screening, resource referral, and two session interpersonal violence prevention protocol for 60 participants. In this single arm trial, women are recruited from three substance use treatment facilities. Participants complete baseline, post-intervention, one-month, and three-month follow-up assessments. Self-report surveys assess trauma exposure, knowledge and behaviors related to interpersonal violence, and intervention engagement. Read Less

This study is being done to test whether low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) (low energy sound waves) cause temporary changes in brain activity and behavior when directed at particular parts of the brain. By targeting LIFU to the parts of the brain thought to be responsible for essential tremor (ET), and measuring any associated improvement in tremor, the investigators hope to show that LIFU can be a useful tool for studying the brain circuits responsible for tremor and other brain disorders. The investigators want to understand more about what kinds of health problems are caused by histiocytosis, what happens as a result of different treatments, and how ECD affects people's lives, their feelings and their attitudes. The investigators also want to learn how these things change over time for people with these conditions. To try to figure this out, doctors would like to collect information about people who have histiocytosis and how they are treated for this disease. Some participants will be asked to complete a brief interview over the telephone. Only a limited number of interviews will take place, and not everyone will be asked to participate in the interview. It is okay if the participant does not want to participate in the interview portion. If this is the case, the participant should let the study team member know when contacted. Read Less

The PANTHERS (Parents And iNfants Together in Home-based Early Remote Services) Projects is a study funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development to evaluate the efficacy and maintenance of a remote home-based preventive intervention, the Infant Behavior Program (IBP), to decrease behavior problems in infants from high-risk families. All families will participate in five remote evaluations in their home, and families will also receive 6 remote treatment sessions of either the IBP or the EPPC. The Hearts of Athletes study is being conducted to determine the heart involvement with COVID-19 in athletes. This study aims to enroll any Adult (18 years of age or greater) • Athlete is defined as NCAA Collegiate Athlete, Professional Athlete, Military, or Olympic Athlete will be eligible for the study. With COVID-19 • COVID-19 diagnosed via an RT-PCR (nasal or throat swab test) prior to enrollment Or without COVID-19 • Identified as a local Control participant (similar sport) to a participant with COVID-19, who is willing to undergo a standard cardiovascular evaluation Participants with and without COVID-19 will use their mobile devices to provide health information, like symptoms, by answering survey questions daily for 30 days. Also, participants will allow their de-identified cardiac images to be sent to the Duke Heart Center for blinded analysis. No physical risks are associated with this study. One possible risk, although minimal, is loss of confidentiality. Read Less
