The purpose of the Inherited CAncer REgistry (ICARE) Initiative is to provide individuals interested in participating in studies focused on inherited cancer predisposition the opportunity to enroll in a research registry. Efforts through the registry include, but are not limited to, contribution of data to observational studies, targeted gene-specific studies, and education and outreach efforts for both participants and recruiting healthcare providers. Participants are given the opportunity to learn about and participate in other efforts for which they may be eligible. All participants and recruiting healthcare providers receive educational newsletters twice per year which contain research and clinical updates in the field of cancer genetics. Providers who recruit patients can also access monthly web-based genetics case conferences which focus on different topics each month and are generally attended by a guest expert who provides background information on the topic as well as comments on the case presentations. Participation in ICARE involves completion of an informed consent form, baseline questionnaire, follow-up questionnaires every two years, and medical record/tumor releases, as applicable. There is no cost to participate and all correspondence can be facilitated through phone, email, or mail. The investigators are doing a study of women with and without binge-eating disorder to learn more about what happens when people engage in everyday decision-making activities. The investigators are interested in learning more about brain activity during everyday decision-making and how everyday decision-making relates to a variety of daily experiences. Examples of everyday decisions include deciding which product to buy, deciding what to eat for a snack, and deciding how to spend free time. Read Less

Depression is more common after a spinal cord injury (SCI) than in the general population. Unfortunately, it is unknown how depression is typically treated in individuals with SCI or if commonly used treatment methods are effective. This study will investigate the safety and impact of a novel method for treating depression called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). rTMS is a type of non-invasive brain stimulation. Fourteen individuals with a cervical or thoracic level SCI and depression will complete an approved treatment plan using rTMS. Participants will be treated using rTMS five days a week for four weeks. After four weeks of treatment, the study team will review the safety of rTMS and assess changes in depressive symptoms. If the results are positive, larger studies can be designed to develop better treatment options for individuals with SCI and depression. Read Less

This initial cohort of this phase II trial studied the outcomes of using a JAK inhibitor prior to reduced intensity haploidentical (Haplo) transplantation for the treatment of primary or secondary myelofibrosis (MF). The primary risk of using Haplo HCT in patients with MF is graft failure. In the first cohort, all patients engrafted. There were no instances of graft failure. However, a large number of patients did have graft versus host disease as a complication of their transplant. JAK inhibitors have since been approved for the indication of graft versus host disease treatment. And we are also using them for graft versus host disease prevention in a study of MF patients with sibling and unrelated donors. Therefore, we are opening a new cohort of the current study using the JAK inhibitor prior to, during and after Haplo transplant. Our goal is to decrease graft versus host disease in patients receiving a Haplo MF transplant without increasing the risk of graft failure. Read Less

This prospective, multicenter, 1:1 randomized, controlled trial is designed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Breast Cancer Locator (BCL) in subjects with non-palpable invasive breast cancer or ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). The study involves annual 4D CTA imaging of the bicuspid aortic valve for a period of 5 years. CTA is often standard of care for BAV patients, but patients in this study will receive a higher radiation dose with a 4D imaging protocol. There may also be patients enrolled in the study who have a 4D CTA for research purposes when a routine CTA is not required for clinical care. Read Less

In the SHIELD study, the study sponsor seeks to assess safety, PK and antiviral activity for children and adolescents with dual or triple class resistance. It will also assess the acceptability and swallowability of formulation among the pediatric population. The dose selection of FTR for children and adolescents ≥20kg utilized a population pharmacokinetic (POP PK) model-based approach to achieve similar adult TMR exposures following FTR 600mg BID administration with combination therapy that was demonstrated to be safe and effective in the FTR Phase 3 BRIGHTE study in HTE patients. Individuals with Sturge-Weber Syndrome (SWS) sometimes have brain involvement which can result in seizures, stroke-like episodes and neurologic deficits. The purpose of this study is to integrate longitudinal clinical data, radiological data, and blood biomarkers of Sturge-Weber syndrome patients. The research aims are: 1. To integrate longitudinal clinical data, radiological data, and blood biomarkers of Sturge-Weber syndrome patients. 2. Identify plasma and imaging biomarkers sensitive to exacerbation of clinical symptoms including seizures, headaches, or stroke-like episodes. 3. For enrolled patients who present with severe neurological symptoms screen blood samples for inflammatory changes. The target enrollment for this study is about 250 individuals diagnosed with Sturge-Weber Syndrome. The goal of this study is to understand more about Sturge-Weber Syndrome, the possible treatments for this disease, and identify targets for clinical trials.
