Advanced cirrhosis with complications is a serious problem imposing a heavy financial burden on health care system. Moreover, ascites is associated with increase in mortality rates among cirrhotic patients. Ascites pathogenesis is multifactorial including: portal hypertension; splanchnic and peripheral arterial vasodilation; and neurohumoral activation. Current management strategies include dietary sodium restriction and diuretic therapy, however, this strategy put patients at the risk of intravascular volume depletion, renal impairment, hepatic encephalopathy and hyponatremia. Moreover, around 10% of patients do not respond to this strategy (termed: diuretics resistant) with 50% of them die within 6 months. This sub-group is managed by frequent large volume paracentesis along with intravenous albumin administration and are usually considered for liver transplantation (LT) and TIPS. Nonetheless, Frequent paracentesis increases the risk of infection, bleeding, bowel perforation, paracentesis-induced circulatory dysfunction (PICD) and renal dysfunction in this sub-group of patients. The beneficial effect of human albumin might result from blood volume expansion tapering activated vasoconstrictor and sodium-retaining systems improving renal perfusion, hence regular infusion of albumin may be beneficial to prevent development of ascites and to improve survival. The positive effects of albumin are supported by previous studies; Romanelli et al, showed a significant increase in survival rate among cirrhotic patients with ascites when compared to those who did not receive albumin. Moreover, a randomized multicenter open label trial published in lancet last year, demonstrated that long term albumin administration improved 18-month survival, decreased the use of paracentesis and decrease in the incidence of cirrhosis related complications among cirrhotic patients with ascites. As of today, there's a limited use of regular high dose albumin in cirrhotic patients with ascites in US, despite being used elsewhere in the world as previously stated. The investigators wish to study long-term efficacy of human albumin administration in patients with decompensated cirrhosis to assess safety and efficacy, and prevention of complications of cirrhosis. Up to 40 evaluable women with known or suspected epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer will participate in two different imaging cohorts. The Biodistribution cohort will include up to 4 patients and the Dynamic cohort will include up to 36 patients. Human dosimetry will be calculated from the Biodistribution cohort. The Dynamic cohort date will evaluate preliminary information on uptake of \[18F\]FTT in gynecological cancer and compare with PARP-1 activity in tissue. Read Less

The investigators propose to understand the role of lumbosacral spinal cord epidural stimulation (scES) in recovery of autonomic nervous system function, voluntary movement, and standing in individuals with severe spinal cord injury (SCI). Thirty-six individuals with severe SCI who have cardiovascular and respiratory dysfunction and who are unable to voluntarily move the legs or stand will receive scES for cardiovascular function, voluntary movement, or standing with and/or without weight-bearing standing. Training will consist of practicing voluntary movements or standing in the presence of specific scES configurations designed for the voluntary movements of the legs and trunk (Vol-scES), or epidural stimulation configurations specific for standing (Stand-scES). Specific configurations epidural stimulation for cardiovascular function (CV-scES) will be provided during sitting and supine and during maneuvers of orthostatic or cardiovascular stress. The ability to move voluntarily, stand, as well as cardiovascular, respiratory, bladder, bowel and sexual function will be assessed in these individuals with chronic severe spinal cord injury. This study is aimed at investigating three new tests that will form part of a computerized tool designed to test brain/cognitive functioning. The system will be evaluated along with the tests' usability on samples of healthy controls and neurologically impaired patient participants. These new tests will be assessed with regard to reliability and validity. Reliability will be addressed through investigation of internal consistency of the test items. Validity will be evaluated relative to traditional paper-and-pencil tests and differentiation between patient and healthy participants.Each participant will complete both the computerized and paper and pencil-based tests. The results will be analyzed to see how performances on the two test types compare. The overall aim of this project is to determine if these new computerized tasks are an improvement over standard paper and pencil-based neuropsychological measures. Read Less

The purpose of this research study is to find out if pregnant women screening positive for alcohol risk like the brief alcohol intervention application that the investigators have developed (called the MommyCheckup, which is a technology-delivered SBIRT, or e-SBIRT), and if it helps them to reduce alcohol use. This study develops infertility survey among reproductive age women with gynecological and breast cancer. This study aims to learn how women consider whether or not to try to have a baby after surviving cancer. The advice gathered from this survey may be shared with patients and survivors in the future, so that they have information to inform their decisions about cancer treatment and family planning. The purpose of this study is to investigate brain activity during current visual and auditory tasks for balance control. The participants will perform cognitive, gait, and balance measures before the data collection to exclude people with neurological disorders. The participants will wear VR headset which provides visual tasks. The participants will need to maintain balance while performing concurrent visual and auditory tasks. The brain activities, reaction time, and eye-tracking data will be collected during doing our experimental tasks. Read Less
