The goal of this clinical trial is to examine how alcohol affects young adults' attention in both laboratory and real-world settings through phone-based cognitive tasks. The main questions this trial is designed to answer are: * How well do the phone-based cognitive tasks capture alcohol's effects on attention? * Does the effect of alcohol on attention contribute to risk-taking? Participants will complete cognitive tasks to assess attention before and after consuming a standard amount of alcohol in the laboratory, and during surveys completed through a phone app for eight weekends. Up to 40 evaluable women with known or suspected epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer will participate in two different imaging cohorts. The Biodistribution cohort will include up to 4 patients and the Dynamic cohort will include up to 36 patients. Human dosimetry will be calculated from the Biodistribution cohort. The Dynamic cohort date will evaluate preliminary information on uptake of \[18F\]FTT in gynecological cancer and compare with PARP-1 activity in tissue. Read Less

The investigators propose to understand the role of lumbosacral spinal cord epidural stimulation (scES) in recovery of autonomic nervous system function, voluntary movement, and standing in individuals with severe spinal cord injury (SCI). Thirty-six individuals with severe SCI who have cardiovascular and respiratory dysfunction and who are unable to voluntarily move the legs or stand will receive scES for cardiovascular function, voluntary movement, or standing with and/or without weight-bearing standing. Training will consist of practicing voluntary movements or standing in the presence of specific scES configurations designed for the voluntary movements of the legs and trunk (Vol-scES), or epidural stimulation configurations specific for standing (Stand-scES). Specific configurations epidural stimulation for cardiovascular function (CV-scES) will be provided during sitting and supine and during maneuvers of orthostatic or cardiovascular stress. The ability to move voluntarily, stand, as well as cardiovascular, respiratory, bladder, bowel and sexual function will be assessed in these individuals with chronic severe spinal cord injury. The purpose of this research study is to find out if pregnant women screening positive for alcohol risk like the brief alcohol intervention application that the investigators have developed (called the MommyCheckup, which is a technology-delivered SBIRT, or e-SBIRT), and if it helps them to reduce alcohol use. The investigators also wish to test whether e-SBIRT effects can be enhanced by booster sessions and/or tailored text messages. Read Less

The purpose of this study is to investigate brain activity during current visual and auditory tasks for balance control. The participants will perform cognitive, gait, and balance measures before the data collection to exclude people with neurological disorders. The participants will wear VR headset which provides visual tasks. The participants will need to maintain balance while performing concurrent visual and auditory tasks. The brain activities, reaction time, and eye-tracking data will be collected during doing our experimental tasks. Read Less

The objective of this proposal is to demonstrate a viable, functionally integrated multivariable artificial pancreas (mvAP) that will address meal, physical activity (PA) and acute psychological stress (APS) challenges without any manual inputs to better regulate glucose levels of people with diabetes. Acute psychological stress and many other forms of PA besides planned exercise can affect blood glucose levels and cause challenges to maintaining euglycemia for people with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Various PA and APS affect the metabolism and sensitivity to insulin in different ways. Hence, their types, intensities and durations, and their individual and concurrent presence must be detected in order to determine the optimal insulin administration. The mvAP approach provides a well-integrated and user-friendly technology with minimal burden on the user and mitigates the effects of unexpected PA and APS inducements. Twenty subjects with type 1 diabetes (ages 18-60) who use insulin pumps enrolled in this study. The study will take place at the UIC-College of Nursing Diabetes and Exercise Laboratory. The protocol will include 1 screening visit and 5 sessions at the laboratory. The primary activities at each meeting will include: (1) screening; (2) measurement of peak exercise capacity; (3) estimation of maximal strength from submaximal strength tests; (4) Trier Social Stress Test; (5) submaximal bouts of aerobic and resistance exercise, and activities of daily living with and without stress (e.g., mental calculations, video games). These activities will be included visit 3, 4 and 5 as appropriate. In addition, subjects will perform activities at home include: housekeeping chores, stationary bike (if available); treadmill (if available); walking; and light weights (if available). Periodically, the research assistant will call the subject during these times and ask them to perform stress-inducing activities while performing the activity. The stress inducing activities will include mental challenges such as a mathematical computation while performing the activity. The subjects will be called at home 3-5 times during the study. The fully automated algorithm will be tested in a home setting, however, the methodology will be developed and approved for testing later in the study. Read Less

More than 100 million U.S. adults are now living with diabetes or prediabetes. Investigators still do not fully understand how diabetes develops and how the disease worsens. Insulin is a hormone that helps the body use sugar as a fuel and control blood-sugar levels. People with diabetes have problems making insulin. This is because their insulin-producing beta cells -in the pancreas-are damaged or destroyed. A biomarker is a biological molecule (such as DNA, RNA (the genetic material of cells) or protein) that is a sign of a normal or abnormal process, or of a condition or disease. A biomarker can be measured and found in blood and/or other body fluids (such as saliva and urine). Understanding the biology of beta cells could help find diabetes-related biomarkers. The discoveries from this research could help with early diagnosis of diabetes and lead to the creation of therapies for treating diabetes. Read Less

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of a pharmacist-delivered MTM (medication therapy management) approach, called QuitAid, to quitting cigarette smoking in rural Appalachia. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Is QuitAid, alone or combined with other quitting tobacco treatments, effective? * What makes QuitAid easy or hard to carry out? Is it cost effective? Is it easy to maintain? Treatment: All participants will be given at least 4 weeks of the nicotine patch. Some participants will be randomized (like the flip of a coin) to receive additional treatments (listed below). These groups will be compared to each other to see which combination works best to help them quit smoking. * Smokefree TXT - a texting program that helps people quit smoking * Tobacco quitline - 4 phone sessions to help people quit smoking * 8 weeks of NRT (nicotine replacement therapy in the form of nicotine patches or nicotine patches and lozenge) medication instead of 4 weeks * QuitAid - An MTM program given by the patient's pharmacist. This is a quitting smoking coaching program * Nicotine patch AND nicotine lozenge instead of just nicotine patches Read Less

The aim of this study is to assess whether delaying early flow through the Ahmed tube shunt may improve the post-operative surgical outcomes and provide a more predictable outcome. To assess this the investigator will conduct a, randomized prospective, multi-centered study with collaborators at WashU in St. Louis, Duke University, Indiana University and the University of Pittsburgh. Participants will be randomized to have an AGV placement with tube ligation (no-early flow) and without ligation (allowing for early flow). IOP will be measured at day one, week one, and months, one, three six, and twelve. This phase II trial studies how well time-restricted eating works in reducing side effects of radiation or chemoradiation side effects when compared to nutritional counseling among patients with prostate, cervical, and rectal cancers. Time-restricted eating, also called short term fasting or intermittent fasting, is an eating plan that alternates between not eating food (fasting) and non-fasting periods. Nutritional counseling involves being asked to follow a healthy, balanced diet that includes instructions on what kinds of food are better tolerated during radiation and chemoradiation therapy. This trial may help researchers determine if certain diets may improve the anti-cancer effects of radiation therapy and reduce the side-effects of this treatment. If successful, these diets may be integrated into the future treatment of prostate, cervical, and rectal cancers. Read Less

The first part of the study (phase Ia - dose escalation) will evaluate the safety and tolerability and identify the dose-limiting toxicities (DLTs) of PM54. The second part of the study (phase Ib - expansion) will be to evaluate the antitumor activity of PM54 in terms of clinical benefit (response or stable disease \[SD\] ≥4 months associated with tumor shrinkage), according to the RECIST v.1.1 (or modified RECIST \[mRECIST\] v.1.1 in case of malignant pleural mesothelioma \[MPM\]) and/or serum markers as appropriate, in patients with selected advanced solid tumors.
