Cholinergic Mechanisms of Attention in Aging
Recruiting
This study will use an anticholinergic pharmacological probe to examine attention network function in SCD using EEG. The overall hypothesis is that in older adults with SCD, normal cognitive performance is maintained by compensatory attention network activity, supported by enhanced cholinergic function. The investigators anticipate that SCD will be associated with greater compensatory attention network activity and that disrupting this compensatory process through anticholinergic challenge will... HPV in Sinonasal Ca: Retrospective Analysis Association of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Serology and Behavioral Risk Factors
Recruiting
This is a case-control study designed to evaluate the role of anatomic site, gender and race in human papillomavirus-associated head and neck squamous cell cancers (HNSCC). We will explore the role of HPV, tobacco, alcohol and drug use, in HNSCC by tumor site with particular emphasis on the sinonasal cavity as well as differences in risk factors for HPV-positive HNSCC by gender and race.

High-Risk Veteran Initiative
Recruiting
Veterans at high-risk for hospitalization, including those with complex care needs, represent a large population of VHA patients who often do not receive evidence-based primary care practices that would help them avoid the hospital and improve their health. The high-RIsk VETerans (RIVET) Program will implement evidence-based practices that can support VHA Primary Care teams to deliver more comprehensive and patient-centered care, better strategies to manage medications, and avoid unnecessary hos... An Immediate Functional Progression Program for Adolescent Athletes With Spondylolysis
Recruiting
Spondylolysis, a stress fracture in the pars interarticularis of a lumbar vertebra, is the most common identifiable cause of low back pain (LBP) in adolescent athletes, occurring in 14-30% of athletes who experience LBP. Spondylolysis can cause significant pain and disability and months of exclusion from sports or an active lifestyle. Standard care of spondylolysis in adolescent athletes is primarily based on expert opinion, with dramatic variations in clinical practice, including restrictive br... Read More

Identification of Treatment Concentrations of Defactinib or VS-6766 for the Treatment of Patients With Glioblastoma
Recruiting
This early phase I trial tests brain concentration level and safety of defactinib or VS-6766 for the treatment of patients with glioblastoma. Recently, two new drugs that seem to work together have been shown to have promising treatment effects in tissue culture and animal models of glioblastoma. Each inhibits a different glioblastoma growth pathway and when used together may create a larger effect on tumor growth than either alone. Growth pathway describes a series of chemical reactions in whic... Read More
