The PRevention Of Methamphetamine Use among Postpartum Women Trial (PROMPT) is randomized controlled trial of postpartum individuals with methamphetamine use disorder to 12 weeks of 200 mg oral micronized progesterone twice daily or placebo. The aims of this study are to assess the feasibility, safety and preliminary efficacy of micronized progesterone for the prevention of return to methamphetamine use. A secondary aim is to assess participant's salivary levels of allopregnanolone with methamphetamine cravings. PRECIDENTD is a randomized, open label, pragmatic clinical trial designed to compare rates of the total number of cardiovascular, kidney, and death events among two alternative treatments for patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and either established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) or at high risk for ASCVD. To accomplish this objective, we will randomly assign 6,000 patients with established T2D and ASCVD or high-risk for ASCVD in a 1:1 allocation to sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitor (SGLT2i) or glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RA). Participants will be followed for the occurrence of the trial primary endpoint of the total (first and recurrent) number of episodes of myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, arterial revascularization, hospitalization for heart failure, development of end-stage kidney disease, kidney transplantation, and mortality, counting all events from randomization until end of study. The goal of this study is to evaluate the effect of intraoperative microbreaks and exercises on gynecologic surgeon body discomfort by conducting a randomized trial. We hypothesize that gynecologic surgeons will experience decreased pain on surgery days with intraoperative microbreaks and exercises without compromising overall surgical performance. Read Less

The study is a parallel group, double blind, randomized trial. Subjects will be recruited from individuals undergoing elective surgery for orthopedic, abdominal, urologic, gynecologic or spine reasons. Out of 92 subjects, one experimental group of 46 subjects will receive 20 mg Suvorexant beginning the first in-hospital night ("day 0") and continuing for their hospital stay. If the dose is not well tolerated (e.g., daytime sleepiness), then the dose may be decreased to 10 mg of Suvorexant. For blinding purposes each arm will receive two tablets (two 10 mg tablets or one 10 mg tablet and a placebo). The goal of this study is to determine whether improving foot strength through foot exercises and minimal footwear can provide improved outcomes over the short and long term. The main research question it aims to answer is: Can the minimal footwear intervention be used to improve the health of aging adults with plantar fasciitis?? Participants will be randomized into 2 groups. One group will receive minimal shoes and foot strengthening and foot flexibility exercises. The other group will receive supportive shoes, foot orthotic device and foot flexibility exercises. Participants' step count will also be monitored. The purpose of this study is to identify whether researched and commonly used face-to-face interventions can be effectively implemented through artificial intelligence (AI) using an application on the phone or computer. The investigators plan to recruit verbal individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder who demonstrate challenges with socialization. Modules focusing on various difficulties experienced by autistic individuals will provide practice and feedback using voice recognition and feedback. If effective, this intervention can be scaled up to provide cost-effective accessible assistance to individuals, particularly those who do not have access to care or prefer to secure services in the comfort of their own homes. Creatine monohydrate, a compound vital for energy during exercise, has been extensively researched and proven safe and effective across various demographics, including older adults and clinical populations. Studies show that creatine enhances benefits from resistance training, indicating potential to counter muscle mass and function decline post-cancer treatment. This study aims to assess the feasibilty of combining creatine supplementation with resistance training versus resistance training alone in sarcopenic colorectal cancer survivors.
