Proton-Spatially Fractionated Radiotherapy and Standard Radiation Therapy for the Treatment of Newly Diagnosed Retroperitoneal Soft Tissue Sarcoma
Recruiting
This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of proton-spatially fractionated radiotherapy (P-SFRT) and to see how well it works with standard radiation therapy in treating patients with newly diagnosed retroperitoneal soft tissue sarcoma. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays, particles, or radioactive seeds to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. Standard spatially fractionated radiotherapy (SFRT) refers to how the radiation is delivered to the tumor. SFRT means that differ... Read More

Electroencephalogram Recording in Patients With Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Recruiting
Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) often experience a frustrating decline of their cognitive skills that includes considerable problems in attention, learning, and memory. This lupus-related cognitive dysfunction (termed SLE-CD) is recognized as the most prevalent of the nineteen neuropsychiatric SLE syndromes, as it affects up to 80% of patients and can significantly decrease their quality of life. The goal is to have tools that can be used for diagnosis and for monitoring respons... Read More

Microfracture Versus Adipose Derived Stem Cells for the Treatment of Articular Cartilage Defects
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to compare two biologic methods for the treatment of articular cartilage defects in the knee. The first method, microfracture, is the standard of care and is routinely used to recruit cells from the subchondral bone marrow to the site of cartilage loss. The second method is the application of adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) to the defect site. In theory, ADSCs on a collagen scaffold should enable the delivery of more specific progenitor cells to the site of injury... Read More

The Effect of Adipose-Derived Stem Cells for Knee Osteoarthritis
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to compare the clinical and functional outcomes of patients with mild to moderate arthroscopically confirmed osteoarthritis between the following two groups: 1. Partial fat pad harvest with Adipose-Derived Stem Cell (ADSC) transplantation with standard arthroscopic treatment consisting of: partial meniscectomy, cartilage stabilization, loose body removal and selective synovectomy. 2. Standard arthroscopic treatment (above) without cell transplant.

Boosting Emotional Well-being and Happiness in Outpatients Living With Diabetes
Recruiting
The focus of this study is to test the efficacy of an 8-week, remotely delivered, positive-psychology-motivational interviewing (PP-MI) intervention, with additional twice weekly text messages for a total of 16 weeks (with interactive, algorithm-driven, goal-focused text messages in the final 8 weeks), compared to MI-alone, in a randomized trial of 280 individuals with type 2 diabetes and low baseline physical activity.
