Self-Collected Swabs for Primary Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Screening
Recruiting
In this study, the investigators will assess whether implementing a self-swab protocol for primary Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) testing is an effective method to increase cervical cancer screening in a sample of unscreened women in Hawaii. The findings of this study may support adoption of HPV self swab protocols both at Kalihi Palama Health Center (KPHC) and other Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in Hawaii.

Transitions of Care for Stroke Patients
Recruiting
For stroke patients, early initiation of therapy typically yields the best functional outcomes. Rehabilitation of stroke patients immediately after hospitalization minimizes deleterious effects of immobility and facilitates restoration of function. The investigators are testing if coordinated efforts between the medical and rehabilitation disciplines may improve stroke patient's functional recovery and subsequent follow-ups after discharge.

Inhalational or Intravenous Anesthesia During Surgery for Patients With Colon Cancer, VIVA Study
Recruiting
This trial evaluates how inhalational anesthesia (drawn in through the lungs) and total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) (through a needle in a vein in the arm) change the body's ability to recover from surgery or whether they impact the immune system immediately after surgery in patients with colon cancer. It is unknown whether these types of anesthesia change recovery from surgery or change the chances cancer comes back following surgery. This study may help researchers learn how different types...
