Evaluating How Course Modality Influences the Effectiveness of the R3 Academy for Dads
Recruiting
The Cal-FIRE project is designed to offer the R3 Academy for Dads, a robust 24-hour program, to predominantly low-income adult fathers, ages 18 and over in the state of California. The R3 Academy is an evidence-based parenting curriculum that helps fathers strengthen their relationships with their child, with their spouse/co-parent, and at work. The program also includes two evidence-based components that address economic stability and an innovative approach to Case Management that fosters clien... Read More

Critical Health Assessment and Outcomes Score/Study
Recruiting
CHAOS is based on the investigator's new and exciting results from pre-clinical and large longitudinal multi-center observational clinical studies of critically ill patients and asymptomatic community-based adults with little or no advanced disease. By integrating approaches from the physical, biological, computational, statistical and clinical sciences, this observational study will test the hypothesis that early diagnosis of subclinical signatures of critical illness encoded within physiologi... SVS VQI TransCarotid Revascularization Surveillance Project
Recruiting
The VQI TCAR Surveillance Project is designed to monitor the safety and effectiveness of stents placed directly into the carotid artery while reversing blood flow within the carotid artery to reduce stroke risk. It will compare this less-invasive surgical procedure with standard carotid endarterectomy in centers that participate in the Society for Vascular Surgery Vascular Quality Initiative.

Bacterial Gene Profiling to Predict Antibiotic Resistance During Cystic Fibrosis Pulmonary Exacerbations
Recruiting
Pulmonary exacerbations (PEx) are key events that lead to a decline in health status among CF patients, with many never recovering to baseline health. With the advancement of new CFTR modulators and other therapies increasing the lifespan of those living with CF, it will become increasingly important to have better strategies to manage PEx in order to have better outcomes following treatment. PEx treatment decisions will need to take into consideration the increasing frequency of antimicrobial r... Read More

Dissecting the Heterogeneity of Oral Cancer Pain
Recruiting
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) produces a higher prevalence and more severe pain than all other cancers. Orofacial pain is one of the most common initial symptoms of oral cancer and often leads to the diagnosis of oral cancer. However, the character, severity, and unique features of oral cancer widely differ between patients. There is currently no effective and lasting treatment available to alleviate suffering from oral cancer pain. A significant obstacle to effectively treating cancer pai... Read More

An Automatically Adjusting Prosthetic Socket for People With Transtibial Amputation
Recruiting
People with leg amputations often experience daily changes in the size (volume) of their residual limb. These daily changes can cause a prosthesis to fit poorly. They can also cause limb problems like pain or skin breakdown. Prosthetic socket systems that accommodate limb volume changes can help address these issues, but they require users to make adjustments throughout the day. The aim of this research is to create a system that will automatically adjust the fit of the socket and create a well-... Read More
