The investigators will develop and pilot test an innovative computer-assisted behavior intervention (CABI) for middle school students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The CABI will deliver evidence-based behavior interventions for ADHD in a manner that is acceptable to teachers and motivating for students. The key element of the CABI is a serious game that will teach and encourage rehearsal of ADHD coping skills in an engaging game environment. Transfer of those skills to authentic education settings will be facilitated by teacher interventionists in consultation with school or clinical psychologists. The investigators will test the CABI condition (n = 18) against traditional teacher consultation for ADHD (n = 18) on measures of consultation fidelity and student academic and behavioral outcomes. To determine the effectiveness of using two medications simultaneously versus one medication, as is standard of care, in preventing early postpartum hemorrhage. There have been studies that looked at giving two medications and that there were reduced odds of postpartum hemorrhage. Specific Aim 1: Determine if double simultaneous uterotonic agent regimen (misoprostol and oxytocin) is superior to single agent (oxytocin only) in reducing postpartum hemorrhage. Robotic therapies aim to improve limb function in individuals with neurological injury. Modulation of robotic assistance in many of these therapies is achieved by measuring the extant volitional strength of limb muscles. However, current sensing techniques, such as electromyography, are often unable to correctly measure the voluntary strength of a targeted muscle. The difficulty is due to their inability to remove ambiguity caused by interference from activities of neighboring muscles. These discrepancies in the measurement can cause the robot to provide inadequate assistance or over-assistance. Improper robotic assistance slows function recovery, and can potentially lead to falls during robot-assisted walking. An ultrasound imaging approach is an alternative voluntary strength detection methodology, which can allow direct visualization and measurement of muscle contraction activities. The aim is to formulate an electromyography-ultrasound imaging-based technique to sense residual voluntary strength in ankle muscles for individuals with neuromuscular disorders. The estimated voluntary strength will be involved in the advanced controller's design of robotic rehabilitative devices, including powered ankle exoskeleton and functional electrical stimulation system. It is hypothesized that the ankle joint voluntary strength will be estimated more accurately by using the proposed electromyography-ultrasound imaging-based technique. And this will help the robotic rehabilitative devices achieve a more adaptive and efficient assistance control, and maximize the ankle joint rehabilitation training benefits. Read Less

It was originally created for open colorectal surgeries but now has shown benefit in various surgical specialities including thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, hepatobiliary as well as gynecological surgery. The successful implementation of structured ERAS program requires an ERAS protocol, audit system and a multidisciplinary team.
