To develop a tissue bank library for patients with parathyroid disease who have undergone surgery and/or biopsy, and/or who may undergo surgical intervention at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center or outside centers, and/or all patients seen through the Parathyroid Center at participating sites, whether or not the patients undergo treatment for their disease. The tissue bank will contain both normal parathyroid tissue and diseased tissue, and will provide a resource for the ongoing study of parathyroid disease and management. Read Less

The Biorepository for Caris Life Sciences is designed for the purpose of making quality biospecimens and associated clinical data available for research studies related to advancing precision medicine and improving care for patients. The Caris Biorepository is a repository of prospectively collected biological specimens and associated clinical and demographic data gathered from multiple sources to be stored, used and shared for research. Caris Life Sciences will maintain the data and specimens and will control access to and use of the information and specimens by multiple individuals for multiple purposes which may evolve over time. The objective of this trial is to assess the safety and effectiveness of the study device in subjects with degenerative mitral valve disease receiving a mitral valve repair without cardiopulmonary bypass (treatment group) when compared to subjects receiving mitral valve repair using standard surgical techniques with cardiopulmonary bypass (control group). The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of a fetoscopic surgical technique for antenatal correction of fetal myelomeningocele. Two surgical approaches will be utilized. The percutaneous approach will be offered to participants with a posterior placenta. The laparotomy/uterine exteriorization approach will be offered to participants regardless of placental location. A protocol was developed to improve pregnancy results after IVM compared to results from studies in the literature. Differences from most published protocols include the use of the Steiner-Tan needle to optimize oocyte environment during oocyte retrieval, use of oral medications and very low doses of FSH, and delayed embryo transfer during subsequent warmed cryo-preserved embryo transfer. The Georgetown University Memory Disorders Program, part of the Department of Neurology, is conducting pilot studies of the feasibility of various diagnostic tests for Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment and other neurodegenerative diseases. Further, this study is assessing longitudinal changes in biological, lifestyle, and cognitive assessment collection. The primary goal of this study is to examine the feasibility of biochemical assays, genetic testing, and cognitive and lifestyle assessments in the ante-mortem diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment and other neurodegenerative diseases. This research involves genetic and cognitive status testing but the findings will not be shared with research subjects. This will be accomplished ex vivo using blood, and/or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) specimens from patients with a diagnosis of probable Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment, or other neurodegenerative diseases and from normal controls. This project addresses the role of lab markers around the time of central line placement in predicting risk of thrombosis in pediatric patients with central venous lines being placed. The project proposes an innovative way to predict higher risk of thrombosis in the pediatric population to give clinicians a valid tool to guide clinical practice for these patients. Read Less

The purpose of this study is to develop a multi-modal protocol for pain management after TURP that minimizes opioid use. The investigators hypothesize this approach will provide non-inferior pain control to the current standard of care which includes opioids as the primary agent. In this study, the TearCare System will be compared with the LipiFlow Thermal Pulsation System in patients with dry eye disease. The objective is to demonstrate that the TearCare System is safe and effective in relieving the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease. NOTE: All sites have been selected for this study.
