ARCTIC: Liquid Biomarkers in the Prospective Androgen Receptor Signaling Inhibitors (ARSI) Resistance Clinical Trials
Recruiting
This study will follow men with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer throughout their standard of care treatment for their disease to determine if the presence of different genes or proteins can predict which patients respond to the cancer treatment they receive. As tumors grow and begin to spread, they may release cells into patients' bloodstream. These cells are called "circulating tumor cells", or CTCs. CTCs can be used to look for differences in "biomarkers" (genes or proteins tha... Read More

Effect of Alcohol and Drugs of Abuse on Immune Function in Critically Ill Patients With Respiratory Failure
Recruiting
This study plans to learn more about people who are sick in the hospital with a lung infection, or respiratory failure. Respiratory failure, or severe lung failure, is a life-threatening disease. When it happens, the lungs have trouble carrying out their normal function of getting oxygen into the blood, and removing carbon dioxide from the body. Investigators are conducting this study to see what drinking too much alcohol, using tobacco products, or using drugs (both legal and illegal) may do to... Read More

Effects of Lung Volume on Upper Airway Patency During Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy
Recruiting
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a disorder where a person has recurrent choking episodes during sleep. Surgery can treat OSA and drug induced sleep endoscopy (DISE) is a procedure that surgeons use to evaluate the throat while a person is sedated, mimicking sleep, to help determine if surgery might be effective. Lung volume can influence OSA severity but the relationship between lung function and throat collapse seen on DISE has not been well studied. This study aims to see if lung volume influ... Read More
