The goal of this prospective, international multi-centre pilot study is to assess the functionality and user experience of a new vital sign monitoring system in 20 patients and 20 nurses in the general ward at each centre. The patients will be monitored with a wireless, continuous vital sign monitoring systems and answer a questionnaire afterwards. They will in addition have vital signs monitored as per standard practice. The nurses will answer a questionnaire after having had the responsibility for a monitored patient for a full shift. The main aims are: To determine the frequency of alerts activated in the app in relation to the alerts that should be activated based on measured data, to explore current practices of in-hospital monitoring by semi-structured interviews to map differences across systems and to test nurse and patient satisfaction. Bowel issues occur in nearly all people after spinal cord injury (SCI) and one major complication is fecal incontinence (accidents). This complication has been repeatedly highlighted by people living with SCI as particularly life-limiting and in need of more options for interventions. This study will test the effect of genital nerve stimulation (GNS), with non-invasive electrodes, on the activity of the anus and rectum of persons after SCI. Recording anorectal manometry (ARM) endpoints tells us the function of those tissues and our study design (ARM without stim, ARM with stim, ARM without stim) will allow us to conclude the GNS effect and whether it is likely to reduce fecal incontinence. The study will also collect medical, demographic, and bowel related functional information. The combination of all of these data should help predict who will respond to stimulation, what will happen when stimulation is applied, and if that stimulation is likely to provide an improvement in fecal continence for people living with SCI. The purpose of the research study is to test new methods that could improve diagnosis and assessment of brain tumors. One of these methods is a new MR (magnetic resonance) imaging technique called magnetic resonance fingerprinting (MRF), which allows for rapidly scanning the patient and provides quantitative information on tumor tissue. The investigators will compare the data gathered from MR Fingerprinting with other imaging tests, clinical information, treatment details and biopsy results to evaluate the accuracy of this new technique. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether treating glioblastoma patients with sitagliptin can improve immune response against the tumor by targeting specific immune cells called myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) that suppress your body's natural immune response against cancer. Sitagliptin is an investigational drug for this condition that works by inhibiting an enzyme called dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4), which MDSCs rely on to enter the brain and function. While sitagliptin is FDA-approved for diabetes treatment, its use in glioblastoma is investigational (experimental). Read Less

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) affects approximately 2 million Americans, and only 2 in 8 young adults ages 18-31 years achieve glycemic targets (glycated hemoglobin A1C \<7.0%). Achieving glycemic targets is associated with reduced risk of micro-and macrovascular complications. Sleep deprivation leads to impaired glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity in adults without chronic conditions and with T1D. Promoting sleep in laboratory and natural environments contributes to improvements in insulin sensitivity, glucose levels, and distress symptoms in young adults without chronic conditions and more time in range in adolescents with T1D. Multiple dimensions of sleep health (alertness, timing, efficiency, and sleep duration) are associated with better achievement of glycemic targets in adults with T1D. Therefore, sleep health dimensions are appropriate therapeutic targets to improve glucoregulation and other diabetes self-management outcomes in this population. Our primary objective is to evaluate the immediate and short-term effects of a 12-week CB-sleep intervention compared to enhanced usual care (time balanced attention control) on actigraphy- and self-report derived sleep health dimensions and diabetes self-management outcomes (glycemia and distress symptoms) over 9-months (Stage II of the NIH Model for Behavior Change, ORBIT phase III). Spinal interoceptive pathways (SIPs) convey bodily signals to an interoceptive system in the brain and their dysregulation is linked to major depressive disorder (MDD). Current treatments are partially effective and the role of SIPs in MDD is vastly unexplored. Preliminary data suggests that SIPs are feasible therapeutic targets in MDD. The central hypothesis is that non-invasive spinal cord stimulation will modulate SIPs to elucidate their role and therapeutic potential in MDD using an R61/33 phased innovation approach. R61 phase specific aims (SA). The specific goal will be to evaluate spinal and brain-based SIPs target engagement markers of transcutaneous spinal direct current stimulation (tsDCS) in MDD with two SAs: SA1) To determine tsDCS SIPs modulation using laser-evoked potentials (LEPs) as electroencephalography (EEG)- based neural measures of target engagement. SA2) To evaluate optimal tsDCS dose based upon tolerability and SIPs target engagement markers. Anodal tsDCS will be evaluated as a tool to modulate SIPs in MDD. SIPs (Aδ and C fibers) can be evaluated via LEPs as neural measures (EEG) elicited in MDD-relevant brain regions within an interoceptive system. Prior data shows anodal tsDCS inhibits SIPs and LEPs N2 component will be assessed as tsDCS engagement markers. Adults with MDD (n=67) will participate in a double-blind, crossover, sham-controlled study to evaluate tsDCS at 0,2.5,3, and 3.5 mA. The working hypothesis is that tsDCS will induce a change in LEPs (SA1) in a dose-dependent and tolerable manner (SA2), supporting their use as SIPs engagement markers. Go/No-Go milestones: Compared to sham, the active tsDCS dose that induces a change in LEPs at a preestablished threshold will be evidence of SIPs engagement and "Go" criteria for the R33 phase. The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if acupuncture in addition to behavioral changes can better treat in women with bladder pain syndrome (also known as interstitial cystitis) that have not received other treatments. The main question it aims to answer is: Does acupuncture improve pain symptoms on the Interstitial Cystitis Index? Researchers will compare six (6) weeks behavioral management alone to behavioral management and acupuncture.
