This research is being conducted to see if using an injectable contraception, Depot Medroxyprogesterone Acetate (Depo-Provera), can reduce the pain experienced by women with sickle cell disease. Participants in this study will be adult women with sickle cell disease who regularly experience sickle cell pain. They will complete a 3-month "baseline "with no use of hormonal contraception, and then a 3-month follow-up after receiving an injection of Depo-Provera. Participants will complete 6 to 7 in-person visits with a urine pregnancy test, blood draw, and surveys, as well as complete remote weekly surveys and monthly home pregnancy tests. Read Less

The purpose of this research study is to see if a drug called ritlecitinib is safe and effective for treating chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU). CSU is hives and itching lasting over six weeks. Ritlecitinib is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat another condition, but it is not approved for treating CSU. Participation is expected to last 20 weeks and include 7 clinic visits. This study will involve physical examinations, blood tests, looking at and taking pictures of participant's skin and hives, optional skin biopsies, and hearing tests. Eligible participants for this study will take ritlecitinib for 12 weeks and complete a daily diary about their skin and hives. The main risks of being in this study are side effects from ritlecitinib. Less than 1 in 10 people taking ritlecitinib experience diarrhea, acne, hives, rash, inflammation of hair follicles, dizziness, and increased blood levels of creatine phosphokinase (a muscle protein). Participants could also experience a rare but serious side effect, such as shingles, unusual infection, cancer, or blood clot. Benefits of participating in this study include a potential improvement in participant's condition and quality of life. The purpose of this graduate student research study is to understand the effectiveness of an occupational therapy program in a domestic violence shelter. It is expected that participation will last about 6 weeks. Subjects will complete pretests involving lifestyle assessments and a coping scale and then participate in 8 occupational therapy sessions during the 4 weeks of program implementation. The occupational therapy sessions will last approximately 90 minutes. After the program is completed, subjects will complete the posttests. Procedures and Activities. You will be asked to: Complete a series of questionnaires about your health, well-being, and daily activities. This is a single-center, single-arm, open-label phase 1/2 study of CART19 in children and young adults with refractory Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), including both patients diagnosed with lupus nephritis (LN) and patients with non-renal Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Phase 1 will evaluate the safety of CART19 in 6-12 patients with Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). There is no planned dose escalation, but a dose de-escalation will be made based on the incidence of Dose Limiting Toxicities.
