The purpose of this research study is to gather more information on how eye injury is related to a baby's future development and see if eye function and brain test results can be used, along with current measures, to better diagnose and treat babies with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). This trial will evaluate the impact of a multicomponent program (TBI Rehabilitation and Activation in Veterans; TRAIN-Vets) on improving cognitive function over an 8-month trial period in older Veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Older Veterans with a history of TBI and subjective cognitive complaints will be enrolled and randomly assign to either the TRAIN-Vets intervention (consisting of aquatic-based exercise training, cognitive training, and lifestyle coaching) or the Health Education Control, where they will receive educational materials about brain health and healthy lifestyles. The researchers are doing this study is to find out if lower doses (given in fewer treatments over a shorter period of time) of radiation therapy in combination with standard-of-care chemotherapy is an effective treatment for people with HPV-positive throat cancer and works as well as the standard doses of radiation therapy in combination with standard-of-care chemotherapy. The chemotherapy drugs used in combination with radiation therapy in this study include cisplatin, carboplatin, and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). Read Less

The purpose of this research study is to determine if rifampin, an antibiotic (a medicine that treats infections), is effective in treating osteomyelitis (infection of the bone) of the foot in diabetic patients. Despite use of powerful antibiotics prescribed over a long period of time, many diabetic patients remain at a high risk for needing an amputation of part of the foot or lower leg because the osteomyelitis is not cured. Some small research studies have shown that addition of rifampin to other antibiotics is effective in treating osteomyelitis in both diabetics and non-diabetics. However, because few diabetics with osteomyelitis have been studied, there is no definite proof that it is better than the usual treatments for diabetic patients. If this study finds that adding rifampin to the usual antibiotics prescribed for osteomyelitis reduces the risk for amputations, doctors will be able to more effectively treat many Veteran patients with this serious infection. Despite many advances in our understanding of the natural history and progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and cardio vascular disease (CVD) in the parent CRIC study over the past 15 years, important questions about key risk factors for these diseases remain unanswered in the AI population. To address this burden of CKD in AI communities Investigators formed a consortium of investigators with extensive experience in conducting research of chronic diseases including diabetes, cardiovascular and kidney disease in AIs of Southwestern US. The proposed CRIC ancillary cohort study of 500 AIs (AI-CRIC) will rapidly improve our understanding of both potential risk factors for CKD progression, as well as the scope of this disease among AIs. This is a prospective, randomized controlled trial to compare cancer control and health-related quality of life following pelvic fascia-sparing radical prostatectomy versus standard radical prostatectomy. The investigators hypothesize that pelvic fascia-sparing radical prostatectomy will have similar cancer control (primary outcome) and sexual function outcomes; and significantly better urinary function, penile shortening/deformity and inguinal hernia risks as compared to radical prostatectomy. This clinical trial evaluates the impact of a culturally tailored educational video on the perceptions of lung cancer and lung cancer screening in vulnerable communities. Lung cancer is the most common cancer type. African-American communities have a higher rate than any other racial or ethnic group in the United States and accounts for the highest number of deaths among African-Americans. Lung cancer is in the top three causes of cancer death among Asian men and women. Research has shown that low-income, minority and immigrant individuals may be under resourced to make decisions about prevention programs and early detection measures for lung cancer. A culturally tailored educational video may be an effective method to help people learn about lung cancer, susceptibility toward lung cancer and lung cancer screening. This may increase lung cancer screening in vulnerable communities. Read Less

This is a multicentre, open-label, multiple dose study of INDV-6001 in adult participants with moderate or severe OUD as defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th edition (DSM-5). The current study will evaluate the pharmacokinetics (PK), safety, and tolerability of INDV-6001 following multiple doses in participants with OUD to select optimum dosing regimens for future studies. Prior to receiving INDV-6001, participants will be stabilised on 12-16 mg of transmucosal (TM) BUP (SUBOXONE®) or will transition from a 100-mg monthly maintenance dose of SC extended-release BUP (SUBLOCADE®). This study will also evaluate the use of alternative injection sites (thigh, back of upper arm), which may be desirable in this patient population for the anticipated extended durations of treatment.
