Phase 2a Immune Modulation With Ultrasound for Newly Diagnosed Glioblastoma
Recruiting
Brain tumor treatment is hampered by the blood-brain barrier (BBB). This barrier prevents drugs carried in the bloodstream from getting into the brain. If the BBB can be opened, making it temporarily more permeable, drugs may able to better reach the brain tumor. In this trial we will implant a novel device with 9 ultrasound emitters, allowing temporary and reversible opening of the BBB to maximize brain penetration of drugs that modulate the immune system. The device will be implanted after rad... Read More

Evaluation of A Clinical Diagnostic Test for CRDS
Recruiting
Calcium Release Deficiency Syndrome (CRDS) is a novel inherited arrhythmia syndrome secondary to RyR2 loss-of-function that confers a risk of sudden cardiac death. Diagnosis of CRDS presently requires cellular-based in vitro confirmation that an RyR2 variant causes loss-of-function. We hypothesize that CRDS can be diagnosed clinically through evaluation of the repolarization response to brief tachycardia, mediated by cardiac pacing, and a subsequent pause.

The Prevent Coronary Artery Disease Trial
Recruiting
Despite increasing evidence that exposure to cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF) at an early age increases the prevalence of subclinical atherosclerosis and is associated with a greater risk of cardiovascular events later in life, there is a lack of randomized trial evidence to support primary prevention strategies in adults aged 30-50 years. The researchers have designed a randomized controlled trial to evaluate whether strict control of CVRF in young adults without known cardiovascular disease,... Read More
