Pediatric cancer survivors have increased infection-related morbidity and mortality. This study will evaluate immune dysfunction following cancer directed systemic therapy completion, with attention to clinical relevance and infection rate in this population compared to healthy siblings, when applicable. The investigators will also restart vaccinations at earlier time points than previously studied, at 3 months post therapy, and will assess whether boosters or revaccination schedules are superior for regaining immunity against potentially serious infections in survivors. Participants are being asked to participate in SELECT-LIFE study because participants take part in the SELECT trial. SELECT-LIFE study is a survey-based study that will start when the SELECT trial ends. SELECT-LIFE looks at the long-term effects of participants taking part in the SELECT trial including the trial medicine participants have been taking. When the SELECT trial ends, participants will no longer get the medicine participants got in the study, even if participants decide to take part in the SELECT-LIFE study. Participants will not get any specific treatment or medicine as part of the SELECT-LIFE study, and participants will be treated as participants normally would by their own doctor. The SELECT-LIFE study will last for up to 10 years after SELECT trial ends, and participants will be asked to fill in a questionnaire about their health every 6 months. Read Less

This phase II trial studies the effects of combination therapy with bevacizumab, erlotinib, and atezolizumab in treating patients with hereditary leiomyomatosis and kidney cancer that may have spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced). Bevacizumab is in a class of medications called antiangiogenic agents. They work by stopping the formation of blood vessels that bring oxygen and nutrients to tumors. This may slow the growth and spread of tumors. Erlotinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of a protein called EGFR that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps slow or stop the spread of cancer cells. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as atezolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Combination therapy with bevacizumab, erlotinib, and atezolizumab may stabilize or shrink advanced hereditary leiomyomatosis and kidney cancer. Read Less

This study will address the question of whether targeting CMV antigens with PEP-CMV can serve as a novel immunotherapeutic approach in pediatric patients with newly-diagnosed high-grade glioma (HGG) or diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) as well as recurrent medulloblastoma (MB). PEP-CMV is a vaccine mixture of a peptide referred to as Component A. Component A is a synthetic long peptide (SLP) of 26 amino acid residues from human pp65. Background: There are no approved drugs to treat recurrent thymoma and thymic carcinoma. New therapies are needed for people with these cancers. Researchers want to see if the drug PT-112 can help. PT-112 kills cancer cells. It also helps the body s immune system fight cancer. Objective: To see if the study drug PT-112 can cause tumors to shrink. Eligibility: People ages 18 and older who have thymoma or thymic cancer and whose disease returned or progressed after treatment with at least one platinum-containing chemotherapy, or who have refused standard treatment. Design: Participants will be screened with: Review of medical history and medications Physical exam Blood and urine tests CT or MRI scans of parts of the body, including the brain Participants will get PT-112 in 28-day cycles, on days 1 and 15 of of the first cycle and on day 1 of each cycle after that. They will get the drug by infusion through a catheter. The catheter is a small plastic tube put into a vein. On days they receive the drug, participants will have physical exams and blood and urine tests. They will have an ECG to test heart function on day 1 of each cycle. Participants will have scans every 8 weeks. Participants may choose to have tumor biopsies on day 1 of cycles 1 and 3. Biopsies may be guided by an ultrasound or CT scan. Participants will continue treatment as long as they can handle the side effects and their disease does not get worse, for up to 8 years. Participants will have follow-up visits 2 weeks and 4 weeks after they stop therapy. Almost 15% of Americans have chronic kidney disease (CKD), with an even higher rate in Veterans due to common risk factors such as high blood pressure and diabetes. People with CKD have a high risk of cardiovascular (CV) diseases, such as heart attacks, heart failure, and strokes. Extra fluid in the body, called volume overload, may lead to CV disease in people with CKD. It is unknown if volume overload develops in the earliest stages of CKD, when treating it with common, inexpensive medicines called diuretics may improve long-term CV outcomes. This study will lay important groundwork to answer this question in Veterans with early CKD by comparing two ways to measure volume overload and studying the change in common symptoms like fatigue and short-term CV function after treatment with diuretic medicines.
