Linking Somatic Mutation Rate With Baseline Exposure in East Palestine
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to This research team is conducting this study to develop methods to measure the biological impact of exposure to the chemicals released following the February 3, 2023 train derailment on residents of East Palestine, Ohio, and surrounding communities. The main question it aims to answer is:
* What biological impact will be measured based on DNA damage?
* In participants who provide a biospecimen, how are biomarker changes related to proximity to the derailment and vari... Read More

Muscle O2 Saturation and Hemoglobin Levels During Rehabilitation From Arthroscopic Surgery
Recruiting
This study will utilize the Moxy wearable sensor to measure muscle oxygen saturation levels in athletes following lower extremity surgery (ACL or Hip arthroscopy) to evaluate their Return-to-Play. The acquired data will complement current protocols utilized by Dr. Voos and Dr. Salata in this regard and will add quantifiable evidence to enable a robust measurement of the surgical limb versus non-surgical limb.

MRI in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Patients
Recruiting
The hypothesis is that SEV result in superior valvular hemodynamics (more pronounced during exercise) and exercise capacity relative to BEV. Furthermore, the hypothesis is that stress CMR will be able to demonstrate differences in these hemodynamic parameters. CMR will also provide refined assessment of paravalvular leak and its impact on ventricular function and on clinical outcomes.

A Neuroprosthesis for Seated Posture and Balance
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to evaluate a surgically implanted functional electrical stimulation (FES) system to facilitate stability of the trunk and hips. FES involves applying small electric currents to the nerves, which cause the muscles to contract. This study evaluates how stabilizing and stiffening the trunk with FES can change the way spinal cord injured volunteers sit, breathe, reach, push a wheelchair, or roll in bed.

I-Score: Intensive Stroke Cycling for Optimal Recovery and Economic Value
Recruiting
Traditional rehabilitation approaches are time and personnel intensive and costly, and leave \~75% of stroke survivors with residual disability. We propose a clinical trial to determine effects of forced aerobic exercise (FE; i.e., mechanically supplemented) in facilitating upper and lower extremity motor recovery post-stroke in an outpatient rehabilitation setting, to elucidate neural and biochemical substrates of FE-induced motor recovery, and to evaluate cost effectiveness of a FE-centered in... Improving Outcomes in Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea With Computational Fluid Dynamics
Recruiting
To create a validated computational tool to predict surgical outcomes for pediatric patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The first line of treatment for children with OSA is to remove their tonsils and adenoids; however, these surgeries do not always cure the patient. Another treatment, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is only tolerated by 50% of children. Therefore, many children undergo surgical interventions aimed at soft tissue structures surrounding the airway, such as ton... Read More
