This phase II trial tests how well craniospinal irradiation (CSI) using photon volumetric modulated arc radiotherapy (VMAT) works in treating patients with breast cancer or non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has spread from the original (primary) tumor to the cerebrospinal fluid and meninges (thin layers of tissue that cover and protect the brain and spinal cord) (leptomeningeal disease). Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays, particles, or radioactive seeds to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. CSI (radiation therapy directed at the brain and spinal cord to kill tumor cells) may be able to target all of the areas of possible leptomeningeal tumor spread. Photon-VMAT-CSI may be an effective treatment option for patients with leptomeningeal disease secondary to breast cancer or NSCLC. Read Less

This study includes a 12-week culinary medicine intervention integrated within the existing YMCA Suncoast Survivorship and Wellness Program Powered by Moffitt. Members of the John Geigle YMCA will be assigned to the NOURISH intervention, which includes biweekly provision of fruit and vegetable bundles, recipe cards, and nutritional education handouts plus 30-minute culinary medicine demonstrations with skill-building training (six total demonstrations focused on fruit and vegetable recipes). The goal of PROJECT SUSTAIN is to optimize Healthy Choices to advance an adaptive and scalable intervention designed to improve self-management of alcohol and HIV in Young People with HIV (YPWH) while understanding the context for state-wide implementation and sustainment in a Hybrid Experimental Design (HED). SUSTAIN utilizes mHealth and telehealth intervention delivery of Healthy Choices (HC), combined with text messaging between sessions, to increase the likelihood of daily medication adherence (primary outcome), and increase the likelihood of achieving viral suppression and meeting criteria for no risky alcohol use at month 3 (secondary outcome). Young children aged 0-4 years may be exposed to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and/or early life adversity (ELA), which are linked with worse physical and mental health across their lifespan. On the other hand, positive childhood experiences (PCEs) can build resilience and prevent or protect against these detrimental outcomes. Data analyses will assess the interactions of ACEs, PCEs, parenting, and poverty on the early social psychology of childhood and develop objective measures for altered stress regulation using hair cortisol as a chronic stress biomarker.
