This cluster-randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the impact of a couples-based parenting program, "Familia Bora," on mothers' and fathers' parenting, couples' relationships, gender, and early child development in the Mwanza Region, Tanzania. Additionally, this study aims to assess the program's implementation and identify factors influencing its quality and effectiveness. Trained community health workers will deliver the program by facilitating weekly peer group sessions in their villages. Twelve couples with a child under two years old will be enrolled in each village. The goal of this clinical trial is to determine if semiconductor fabric embedded in socks can improve healing after non operative ankle sprains. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. How does semiconductor embedded sock effect outcomes in patients undergoing rehabilitation from ankle injury? 2. How does semiconductor embedded socks effect injury symptoms and function throughout the course of treatment? Researchers will compare semiconductor embedded socks with typical compression socks to determine differences in healing. The PLANET Study aims to determine the impact of microplastics on intestinal inflammation and gut microbiome in order to understand the role of this pollutant on the risk of developing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) as well as other diseases. The goal of this research study is to establish the safety and then to explore the effectiveness of infusing the combination of cytokine-induced memory-like (CIML) natural killer (NK) cells, a type of immune cell in the blood that is collected and bathed in special proteins to help identify and treat curtained advanced cancers, combined with low dose IL-2, which is a cytokine that activates immune cells, in advanced clear cell renal cell carcinoma and urothelial carcinoma. This study is a Phase 3, multi-center, Bayesian Adaptive Sequential Platform Trial testing the effectiveness of different prehospital airway management strategies in the care of critically ill children. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies affiliated with the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) will participate in the trial. The study interventions are strategies of prehospital airway management: \[BVM-only\], \[BVM followed by SGA\] and \[BVM followed by ETI\]. The primary outcome is 30-day ICU-free survival. The trial will be organized and executed in two successive stages. In Stage I of the trial, EMS personnel will alternate between two strategies: \[BVM-only\] or \[BVM followed by SGA\]. The \[winner of Stage I\] will advance to Stage II based upon results of Bayesian interim analyses. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and death. An overactive sympathetic nervous system in CKD patients is one of the major mechanisms increasing the cardiovascular risks in this patient population. Recently, some studies have shown that a drug typically used to improve glucose control (pioglitazone) may also reduce sympathetic nerve activity and improve blood vessel function. Peritoneal carcinomatosis from advanced gastro-intestinal malignancy has historically been associated with poor overall survival (≤ 12 months) with few treatment options. Cytoreductive surgery (CRS), which involves removal of all macroscopic tumor nodules, combined with direct administration of heated intra-peritoneal (IP) chemotherapy (HIPEC) to the affected peritoneal surfaces, has been shown to be an effective treatment option that extends overall survival among certain cases of peritoneal carcinomatosis. IP chemotherapy allows delivery of a high dose of cytostatic drug directly onto the peritoneal surfaces at risk for microscopic residual disease while systemic exposure remains limited. Additionally, hyperthermia is known to enhance the cytotoxicity of several agents (including Mitomycin C) and improves the depth of peritoneal penetration. This trial will be a randomized phase 2 comparison of flat dose versus weight-based dose Mitomycin C. The hypothesis of this study is that HIPEC weight-based dosing may result in similarly effective peritoneal Mitomycin C concentrations with less systemic absorption and potential systemic toxicity, compared with the HIPEC flat dosing approach in patients undergoing CRS/HIPEC.
