The purpose of this 10-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled study is to determine whether inflammation impacts reward and motor neural circuitry to contribute to depressive symptoms like anhedonia and psychomotor slowing in people with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and depression. Sixty male and female patients with HIV who have depression, anhedonia and high inflammation and are stable on effective treatment for their HIV will be randomized to receive either the anti-inflammatory drug baricitinib or a placebo for 10 weeks. Participants will complete lab tests, medical and psychiatric assessments, neurocognitive testing, functional MRI (fMRI) scans, and optional spinal taps as part of the study. Read Less

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare to rhythm-based walking interventions to enhance gait in people with Parkinson's disease. The main questions it aims to answer are: * How does rhythm-based training influence walking performance? * How does brain activity change following rhythm-based training? Participants will perform walking to music and walking while singing, and will train on the use of these rhythms for 12 weeks. This phase II trial studies the effect of avapritinib in treating malignant solid tumors that have a genetic change (mutation) in CKIT or PDGFRA and have spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced) or other places in the body (metastatic). Avapritinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Avapritinib may help to control the growth of malignant solid tumors. Read Less

Gene therapy is a paradigm-shifting treatment for hemophilia B patients, particularly in resource-limited countries where factor availability remains low. Transparent and culturally sensitive communication around gene therapy is vital to the success of a high-quality consenting process. Current literature on knowledge, beliefs and attitudes about gene therapy in resource-limited countries is inadequate. In addition, few educational resources to explain basic gene therapy concepts exist in languages other than English. This study aims to address these gaps in knowledge and aid for the development of educational resources to assist the informed consent processes for gene therapy in resource-limited countries. Primary Objective: To assess baseline knowledge, beliefs, and attitudes about gene therapy held by hemophilia B patients globally Secondary Objectives: 1. To explore healthcare workers' (i.e., physicians, nurses, social workers, educators/academic coordinators) perspectives regarding the education needs of hemophilia B patients globally 2. To explore healthcare workers beliefs and attitudes about gene therapy 3.
