Background: People with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are at risk of developing complications in their blood vessels. This can increase the risk of heart attacks or stroke. No medications have been effective at reducing this risk in people with lupus. Objective: To test whether a drug (anifrolumab) can improve blood vessel function and reduce blood vessel inflammation in people with SLE. Eligibility: People aged 18 to 80 years with SLE. Design: Participants will undergo screening. They will have a physical exam. They will have blood and urine tests. They will have a test of their heart function and a chest X-ray. They will answer questions about their SLE symptoms. Participants will visit the clinic 9 times in 8 months. After screening, visits will be 4 weeks apart. Each visit may take up to 4 hours. Participants will receive infusions from a tube attached to a needle inserted into a vein in the arm (IV). Some will receive anifrolumab. Others will receive a placebo treatment. They will not know which one they are getting. At some visits they will have additional tests: CAVI (cardio-ankle vascular index) tests blood vessel function. Participants will lie still for 20 minutes. Small electrodes will be placed on both wrists with stickers. A microphone will be placed on their chest. Blood pressure cuffs will be wrapped around their ankles and arms. FDG-PET/CT is an imaging procedure. Participants will receive a substance through an IV line. They will lie on a table for 110 minutes while a machine captures images of their body. Read Less

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is one of the most common performed surgical procedures in urology. Over the past few decades there have been an increasing development of newer surgical treatment options. Additionally, the outcome parameters for BPH treatments have been standardized. While data are available for the initial pivotal studies, post-market release data are lacking. Intravesical immunotherapy or chemotherapy for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) is a well-established treatment for preventing or delaying tumor recurrence after tumor resection. For high-risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, immunotherapy in the form of intravesical Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) can be effective as first-line; nevertheless, the response rate to BCG is suboptimal with many patients failing treatment. Following BCG-failure, however, very few effective therapeutic options exist besides life-changing cystectomy. Recent shortages of BCG have pushed the use of alternative intravesical therapies for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. At the University of Arizona Cancer Center, the use of intravesical Gemcitabine + Docetaxel (Gem/Doce) is considered as standard treatment for patients with non-invasive bladder cancer who are unable to get BCG or are BCG-resistant. The role of Gemcitabine as first-line treatment for NMIBC is poorly understood. The purpose of this research study is to learn more about the effects of using proton radiation therapy delivered over a shorter course of treatment (3 weeks) compared with a longer, standard course of treatment (5 weeks) for women with breast cancer who require radiotherapy to the breast/chest wall and regional lymph nodes. Mechanism-based acne treatment for transgender patients receiving testosterone currently does not exist and is an unmet medical need. This study explores clascoterone to treat testosterone induced acne. Many treatments we use to treat acne in females cannot be used in transgender males because they interfere with hormone therapy. Androgens have been associated with the development of acne vulgaris. Recently, a topical androgen receptor inhibitor cream (clascoterone) has been FDA-approved for the treatment of acne. However, clinical trials of clascoterone have excluded participants on exogenous hormones. Clascoterone has been hypothesized to be effective in the treatment of acne in transgender male participants on masculinizing hormone therapy, but it has never been studied or reported in the literature. Around 20% of the obese patients with higher body mass index (BMI) who are taken off the breathing tube and breathing machine (ventilator) end up needing it back to support breathing. The re-application of breathing tube is associated with poor outcomes, including high risk of pneumonia, longer hospital stays, and death. The purpose of this study is to assess if prophylactic use of noninvasive breathing support after removing the breathing tube lowers the chance of needing the breathing tube again. Read Less

KB707-01 is a Phase 1/2, open-label, multicenter, dose escalation and expansion study. The study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of KB707 in adults with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors who have progressed on standard of care therapy, cannot tolerate standard of care therapy, refused standard of care therapy, or for whom there is no standard of care therapy as well as the safety, tolerability, preliminary efficacy, and immunologic effect of KB707 administered in combination with Opdualag to subjects with unresectable or metastatic melanoma. Subjects in dose escalation (Cohorts 1 through 3) and dose expansion (Cohort 4) will receive intratumoral injections of KB707 approximately every three weeks. Cohorts 1 through 4 are closed to new enrollment. Dose expansion Cohort 5 and Cohort 6 will evaluate subjects with advanced melanoma. Subjects in Cohort 5 will receive intratumoral injections of KB707 biweekly (q2w), delivered in combination with Opdualag (dosed every q4w per prescribing information). Subjects in Cohort 6 will receive intratumoral injections of KB707 biweekly (q2w), delivered in combination with Keytruda (dosed every q6w per prescribing information). The purpose of this research study is to gather more information on how eye injury is related to a baby's future development and see if eye function and brain test results can be used, along with current measures, to better diagnose and treat babies with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). This clinical trial evaluates the impact of a culturally tailored educational video on the perceptions of lung cancer and lung cancer screening in vulnerable communities. Lung cancer is the most common cancer type. African-American communities have a higher rate than any other racial or ethnic group in the United States and accounts for the highest number of deaths among African-Americans. Lung cancer is in the top three causes of cancer death among Asian men and women. Research has shown that low-income, minority and immigrant individuals may be under resourced to make decisions about prevention programs and early detection measures for lung cancer. A culturally tailored educational video may be an effective method to help people learn about lung cancer, susceptibility toward lung cancer and lung cancer screening. This may increase lung cancer screening in vulnerable communities. Read Less

For some patients who come to the emergency department for treatment of a migraine headache, peripheral headache nerve blocks (PHNB) have proven to be an efficient and effective treatment for headache relief. Previous studies have demonstrated that adding steroids as an adjunct treatment to standard migraine treatment can reduce recurrence of headaches in the subsequent few days. Read Less
