Proximal junctional kyphosis (PJK) is a common post-operative radiographic finding after surgery for adult spinal deformity (ASD) patients. Although the clinical relevance of isolated PJK is unclear, PJK can progress to symptomatic proximal junctional failures which requires a large revision surgery. Currently, post-operative bracing with a thoracolumbosacral orthosis (TLSO) is common practice after spinal deformity surgery, however the efficacy of this in preventing PJK is unknown. This multi-center randomized control trial identified 84 patients undergoing thoracolumbosacral fusion for ASD and plans to study the efficacy of a novel post-operative TLSO in preventing the development of PJK as defined by the proximal junctional angle on 6-month post-operative X-rays. Antenatal family counseling for anticipated extremely preterm deliveries remains ethically and practically challenging for maternal-fetal medicine specialists and neonatologists alike. The overall goal of this project is to improve antenatal counseling and counseling outcomes for families facing anticipated extremely preterm delivery through innovative, interdisciplinary simulation-based education for maternal fetal medicine specialists and neonatologists, using language preferred by families, and focusing on eliciting values and building partnerships through advanced communication and relational skills. This is a single-institution, single-arm, phase 2 study in which belantamab mafodotin (GSK2857916), an antibody-drug conjugate targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), will be administered to patients with multiple myeloma prior to and following high-dose melphalan and autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT), in conjunction with standard lenalidomide maintenance. This clinical trial examines a new imaging technology, contrast-enhanced mammography, in predicting breast cancer. Contrast-enhanced mammography is similar to standard mammography, but it includes an intravenous (by vein) injection of iodine-based contrast, which makes tissue and blood vessels more visible in scans. Contrast-enhanced mammography may work better in detecting cancer in the breast that is not seen on other imaging tests and may help doctors find the most suspicious areas of the breast to biopsy, which could increase the chances of finding breast cancer. The purpose of this research is to determine whether a 16-week culturally tailored, technology-based, aerobic and resistance exercise intervention improves cardiovascular risk factors in Black men diagnosed with prostate cancer and are undergoing androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), and whether it will also improve physical fitness and function, body composition, and outcomes such as quality of life, cancer symptoms, and self-esteem. Approximately 240 eligible adult participants (≥18 years old) who meet Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR) criteria for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) will be enrolled. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive a single oral dose of Psilocybin 25 mg, Psilocybin 5 mg, or inactive placebo.
