No standard currently exists for managing fluids in critically ill pediatric trauma patients, and many fluid strategies are now in practice. For decades, trauma patients got high volumes of IV fluid. This is a single site, prospective pilot study to determine the feasibility and safety of the administration of HP 13C bicarbonate in 10 patients with prostate cancer to determine potential hydrogen (pH) values in surrounding tissue. The proposed study will evaluate pre-surgical participants with histologically confirmed localized prostate cancer who receive infusion of hyperpolarized 13C injection prior to MR imaging with endorectal coil.

Far Red Light to Improve Functioning in PAD

The LIGHT PAD Trial is a Phase II multi-centered randomized clinical trial to collect preliminary data to test whether daily far red light treatment of the lower extremities in people with PAD improves six-minute walk distance, lower extremity perfusion, and ischemia-related damage in gastrocnemius muscle at four-month follow-up, compared to a sham control. Participants will complete 10 minutes of twice daily home treatment with either far red light or a sham light for four months.

ERAS in Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology Preoperative Counseling

The Investigator propose a randomized trial that will assess whether participant involvement in pre-operative counseling for ERAS improves post-surgical pain scores. The Investigator will also assess participant compliance to ERAS-prescribed medications, and functionality (return to school). Each participant who is enrolled in the study will be assigned to 1) pre-operative counseling with participant's caregiver or 2) caregiver-only counseling.
