The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of providing sensation of the missing limb to individuals with above and below the knee limb loss. The investigators will implanted stimulating electrodes to send small electrical currents to the remaining nerves. These small electrical currents cause the nerves to generate signals that are then transferred to your brain similar to how the information about your foot and lower limb used to be transferred to the brain prior to your limb loss. Additionally, there is the option to have muscle recording electrodes implanted within the muscles of the lower limb with the goal to develop a motor controller that would allow the user to have intuitive control of a robotic prosthetic leg. The purpose of this study is to understand whether the couple therapy that is used in practice is effective in preventing situational couple violence. More specifically, investigators will focus on couples with mild to moderate forms of situational couple violence to investigate how couples therapy can be effective in preventing the escalation and recurrence of situational couple violence. For this purpose, the response of partners to therapy will be investigated by integrating self-report questionnaires and psycho-physiological markers of emotion. Read Less

Aortic aneurysm patients benefit from exercise yet patients and physicians do not know a safe level. Cardiac MRI (CMR) is the most comprehensive imaging modality for phenotypic evaluation of patients with cardiac disease but it has not been used to study aneurysm patients. The purpose of this project is use exercise CMR to understand regional aortic function and quantify aortic elasticity in these populations while exercising. This project will correlate the exercise CMR data with the biomechanical properties of the patient's aortic tissue, including epiaortic ultrasound and TEE performed during aortic repair, and explanted aortic specimens subjected to ex vivo uniaxial tensile testing. Correlating this data with aortic response to exercise will allow us to understand how aortic size, in vivo circumferential strain values, ex vivo aortic efficiency and mechanical failure all relate to exercise physiology. This is a Phase 2, multicenter, double-blind, sponsor unblinded, placebo-controlled, single-dose clinical study of CRD-4730 to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) of CRD-4730 when administered as single oral doses to participants with Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia (CPVT). The study will have 2 cohorts in which participants with CPVT will participate in a 3-period, randomized 2-sequence study. The purpose of this study is to allow us to assess the effectiveness (or success) of starting pelvic floor physical therapy (i.e. exercises for your pelvic muscles) prior to HoLEP (holmium laser enucleation of the prostate) surgery for enlarged prostates in order to manage or prevent urinary incontinence (i.e. leaking) after surgery (i.e. post-operatively). Your pelvic floor refers to the muscles under your bladder along your pelvic bones that prevent you from leaking urine or stool. Traditionally, pelvic floor physical therapy is started after surgery and continued until urinary continence (i.e. no leaking of urine) is regained. We want to assess if beginning pelvic floor physical therapy prior to surgery (and continuing afterwards) reduces the time required to regain urinary continence following HoLEP. Read Less

Gait and balance problems are a significant source of disability in patients with Parkinson disease. Physical therapy remains one of the main treatments. On the other hand some medications, such as methyphenidate and atomoxetine, have been tried with promising results. The outcomes in gait and balance in Parkinson disease after a combination of physical therapy and the medications mentioned above have not been explored yet. The investigators want to evaluate whether the addition of medication, either low dose of methylphenidate or atomoxetine, to physical therapy will achieve improvement in gait and balance in Parkinson disease more than physical therapy alone. The purpose of this observational study is to collect clinical information, blood, and tumor tissue samples from participants diagnosed with stage I, stage II, or operable stage III cancer in select solid tumors. The information collected will be used to develop tests to better understand cancer, for example, to improve cancer detection and to assess the risk of cancer coming back.
