This is a 2-part, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, Phase 2 study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of RTA 901 in qualified participants with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (DPNP). Each study part will be randomized into 3 treatment arms; 2 different doses of RTA 901 and RTA 901-maching placebo. The doses of RTA 901 in Part 2 will be selected based on the Exposure-Response (E-R) analyses of data from Part 1. A total of 384 participants will be randomized in this study. Each part will have 192 participants, with 64 participants randomized 1:1:1 to each treatment arm. The duration of each part of the study will be approximately 20 weeks, including a Screening period of up to 2 weeks, a Run-in-period of 2 weeks, a Treatment period of 12 weeks, and a Follow-up period of 4 weeks. The goal of this observational trial is to compare the health history and motion capabilities of participants with low back pain disorders to participants with healthy spines. The main question[s] it aims to answer are to: Primary outcomes of this research effort include the development of composite measures or digital biomarkers to track functional recovery over time and predict duty or work status outcomes (return-to-full duty/work, limited duty/work restrictions or medical discharge/long-term disability). Secondary outcomes of this research effort include characterization of motion assessment utility to predict reinjury risk and evaluate intervention effectiveness. In addition, exploratively, the investigators will determine biopsychosocial profiles of low back pain, and neck pain military populations to identify low back and neck pain phenotypes. Participants will complete questionnaires and wear a motion monitor that will assess the participant's back and/or neck. This session will be approximately 40-70 minutes. The research team will follow up with participants at 3 month, 6 months, and 1 year to complete a short series of questionnaires and a motion assessment test. Read Less

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the use of no topical anesthesia, topical coolant, and the use of vibration in the reduction of pain during trigger finger injections. This will be done by randomizing patients who are diagnosed with trigger finger, warrant and choose to continue with a steroid injection into each of the respective anesthetic (or lack thereof) methods described. After conducting this and gathering data on the subjects pain felt, we will compare the analgesia from each of the anesthetic methods. Read Less

This project will investigate the efficacy of a Stimfix Trail lead anchor system (StimfixTM) in patients undergoing dorsal column stimulator trial. In dorsal column stimulator trails, two leads are placed in the epidural space and various frequencies, pulse widths, and amplitudes are run to reduce pain perception. This therapy has been in use for the last 70 years and today there are about 100,000 implants done annually for various pain indications. The process of obtaining the therapy requires a trial period of seven days with percutaneous epidural leads connected to an external pulse generator (EPG). During this trial phase there has been incidence of lead migration in about 5-10% of patients resulting in trial failure. The function of StimfixTM is to standardize the lead anchoring procedure and to reduce the incidences of lead migration during the spinal cord stimulation trial phase. Read Less
