The goal of this clinical trial is to determine to what extent anticancer immune cells mobilized by aerobic exercise exhibit migratory and functional capacity towards cancer cells in patients undergoing treatment for breast or colorectal cancer. The main questions it aims to answer are: • Do anticancer immune cells mobilized by aerobic exercise will display migratory and functional capacity in patients undergoing treatment for curable breast or colorectal cancer? Hypothesis: exercise will promote cell migration and these cells will display anti-cancer functional characteristics, suggesting a possible adjuvant and immunotherapeutic use of exercise. • Do the magnitude of this anti-cancer immune response to exercise depend on the intensity of exercise? Hypothesis: the achievement of a higher intensity of effort will enable greater mobilization of the cytotoxic lymphocytes of interest, but also the expression of markers predicting a more interesting adjuvant potential to immunotherapy. Researchers will compare the effect of two exercise sessions, one moderate-intensity continuous exercise session (MOD) and one high-intensity interval exercise (HIIE) on the migration and anticancer potentials of mobilized immune cells. Individuals aged between 40 and 70 with curable colon or breast cancer will be recruited to carry out a cross-over study with two experimental conditions. After a preliminary assessment visit, they will take part in: * Two familiarization visits to validate the exercise prescription * Two experimental visits (HIIE and MOD). During these conditions, blood samples will be taken before, after and 1 hour after the end of exercise to collect immune cells in the blood. At the end of the visits, participants will leave with an accelerometer to wear for three days depending on conditions, and a notebook containing a questionnaire to assess fatigue levels over the same three days. Trastuzumab is an important treatment for HER 2 positive breast cancer. But trastuzumab can cause injury to the heart, and this is one of the main reasons it cannot be administered as planned. Heart injury can often be successfully treated using cardiac medications. The objectives of SCHOLAR-2 are to evaluate whether is it safe and effective to continue trastuzumab, pertuzumab or trastuzumab-emtansine (T-DM1) in patients with early stage HER-2 positive breast cancer despite mild, minimally symptomatic or asymptomatic systolic left ventricular dysfunction as compared with a guideline-driven approach of withholding or discontinuing trastuzumab, pertuzumab or trastuzumab-emtansine (T-DM1). In SCHOLAR-2, we will compare two thresholds of withholding or discontinuing trastuzumab/pertuzumab/trastuzumab-emtansine: a threshold that is currently advocated for by existing treatment practice guidelines versus a more aggressive threshold that allows trastuzumab/pertuzumab/trastuzumab-emtansine to continue at lower levels of LVEF than currently supported by guideline documents. Adolescents and young adults (AYA) diagnosed with cancer experience unique challenges after completing treatment and face distinct barriers to optimal care and support. These challenges include higher levels of symptom burden and treatment complications, interrupted education, careers and relationships, and financial hardship. AYA lack access to peers, relevant information and emotional support, and report gaps in care when dealing with these difficult challenges. Digital peer navigation could help to address the needs of AYA and overcome barriers to care and support. The PI developed True North Peer Navigation (TrueNTH-PN), an evidence-based digital peer navigation program for men with prostate cancer and online peer navigator training course. The goal of this project is to adapt TrueNTH-PN for AYA and evaluate its feasibility to overcome barriers to care and support, and enhance patient activation among AYA during the challenging post-treatment phase. In partnership with AYA cancer survivors, the Canadian Cancer Society, Young Adult Cancer Canada, a digital app design firm and technology provider, our cross-Canada team will: (1) Adapt and evaluate the usability of the TrueNTH-PN app for AYA; (2) Adapt and evaluate the effectiveness of the Peer Navigator Training Course for AYA; and (3) Determine the feasibility, acceptability and preliminary effectiveness of the new AYA-PN program among post-treatment AYA cancer survivors. This project will produce an innovative solution to an important service gap in the lives of AYA with cancer. It has the potential to address the support needs of AYA, overcome barriers to care, and empower AYA to take proactive role in managing their health. In addition, it will give rise to AYA peer navigators with specialized skills, which could fill gaps in disrupted education and career paths, and help to attain future goals. Read Less

The main objective of this study is to compare the diagnostic performance of two diagnostic methods, namely CESM and MRI, in the evaluation of a lesion suspicious of breast cancer in 300 Quebec women referred for the investigation of breast cancer. breast lesion suspected of cancer. All suspicious lesions will be evaluated by these two diagnostic imaging and by TNM. Then, radiologists will respectively interpret diagnostic imaging, without knowing the result of the other imaging in parallel with the study. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value for his diagnostic imaging will then be determined. Breast cancer predominates among cancer diagnoses in Canadian women. It accounts for around 25% of new cases and contributes to 13% of all cancer-related deaths. In 2020, almost 27,400 Canadian women were diagnosed with breast cancer and 5,000 of them died from it. Mammography is still the preferred method for screening for breast cancer. Although progress has been made over the years, mammography does have its drawbacks. These include physical discomfort for patients, exposure to X-rays and reduced effectiveness in dense breasts. The study team is therefore interested in developing a new breast cancer detection method, the BRAVE method. The BRAVE method, short for "BRA-based Visco-Elastography", uses the high contrast of elastic stiffness in malignant breast tumors to detect possible cancer cases without the need for X-rays or breast compression. The first phase, carried out on a small scale pilot study, aimed to assess the method's ability to distinguish a breast with no abnormalities from one with confirmed cancer. The second phase (current phase), carried out on a larger scale, aims to confirm the sensitivity and specificity of the method in detecting malignant lesions, i.e. to determine whether the method is capable of distinguishing between several types of breast masses. This is a prospective, open-label, within-patient clinical trial to determine the accuracy of Indocyanine green (ICG) guided sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) compared to the standard dual-tracer SLNB in breast cancer patients who have had chemotherapy as a first treatment using a non-inferiority design. Patients with operable breast cancer treated with chemotherapy and eligible for SLNB will be included in the study. During surgery, ICG will be injected and used to identify fluorescent sentinel nodes using a hand-held imaging camera; radiotracer and blue dye will also be used as per standard protocols. Intraoperative and clinicopathologic outcomes such as complications, characteristics of nodes, false negative rates and feasibility will be assessed. Patients will be asked to complete standardized patient reported outcome questionnaires (Breast-Q, FACT-B+4, VAS) to define the patient experience with this novel technique. Read Less
