Molecular Profiling of Advanced Biliary Tract Cancers
Recruiting
Biliary tract cancer (BTC) accounts for \<1% of all cancers, but remains a highly fatal malignancy. Surgical resection is the only hope for cure, but most patients present with advanced disease when curative-intent surgery is not possible. The therapeutic options for patients with advanced disease are limited, primarily to chemotherapeutic regimens, which are based on empiric evidence without the use of biomarkers. These current treatment strategies have been largely ineffective in controlling t... Read More

Early Detection of Treatment Failure in Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Patients
Recruiting
In North America, colorectal cancer patients with resectable liver-restricted metastases (mCRC-LR) are treated with approximately 6 months of preoperative systemic multi-agent chemotherapy. Actuarial data however supports that approximately 20% of mCRC-LR patients can be cured without as much systemic chemotherapy. Prospective phase II-III trials also support that awaiting recurrence to initiate further metastases-targeted or systemic treatment may provide patients with longer overall survival w... Read More

Monitoring and Managing Glucose Levels in People With Pancreatic Cancer
Recruiting
This study will investigate whether or not it is feasible to closely monitor and manage glucose levels in people with pancreatic cancer. It will also investigate what impact glucose management may have on pancreatic cancer.
This is a pilot study that will use continuous glucose monitors (CGM) to monitor glucose levels in approximately 50 participants with pancreatic cancer. Participants will receive standard chemotherapy with a combination of up to four drugs to treat their pancreatic cancer: o... Read More

Improving Sexual Quality of Life - Randomized Trial of Two vs Five MRI Guided SABR Treatments for Prostate Cancer
Recruiting
Prostate Stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR) is an established technique that delivers radiation in a non-invasive approach for men with prostate cancer. The treatment regimen is given in total of 5 fractions with one treatment per day at every other day or weekly sessions. Ultra-hypofractionated radiotherapy (UHRT) is an emerging monotherapy for localized prostate cancer however, several trials have observed demonstrating superior biochemical control of a two-fraction (HDR) over sing... A Fully Automated Lyumjev and Pramlintide Delivery System for Adults With Type 1 Diabetes
Recruiting
The aim of this clinical trial is to investigate whether a fully automated Lyumjev-and-pramlintide delivery system improves glycemic outcomes in adults with type 1 diabetes. The main question we aim to answer is whether a Lyumjev-pramlintide fully closed loop system improves time in range compared to a hybrid closed loop system with carbohydrate counting. We also aim to find the optimal insulin to pramlintide ratio for glycemic control in the fully automated system.
In this cross-over study, pa... Read More

Looking for Asymptomatic Mpox in a Population at High Risk
Recruiting
Mpox is caused by a virus that can be spread through touching the affected skin of someone who has the infection, touching sheets or clothes that has been used by someone with the infection, or breathing in particles of virus from someone who has the infection. Mpox infection can cause skin and flu-like symptoms, but can also cause very few symptoms, or no symptoms at all. While the number of participants with mpox symptoms can be tracked, little is known about how many people have mpox, but exp... Read More

Addressing Depression and Positive Parenting Techniques (ADAPT)
Recruiting
Children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) experience disproportionate social, family and academic impairment and have between two to five times increased likelihood of developing an anxiety disorder, mood disorder or other severe mental illness in adolescence and adulthood. There is a close association between parental depression and the emergence and maintenance of childhood EBD that is likely bidirectional. Parents of children with EBD experience disproportionate stress, incre... Read More

Montreal Immune-Related Adverse Events (MIRAE) Study
Recruiting
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) are among the most promising approaches to fighting cancer. However, a substantial percentage of patients experience off-target adverse effects in the form of mild to severe inflammation in different organs, commonly called immune-related adverse events (irAEs). irAEs can lead to treatment discontinuation, or can be life-threatening in extreme cases. The causes of irAEs are largely unknown and there are no reliable predictive biomarkers. The Montreal Immune-Rel... Read More

Stand UP to Rheumatoid Arthritis (SUPRA)
Recruiting
Rheumatoid arthritis is a disabling arthritis that affects young women disproportionately. Although the physicians have some excellent treatments, they do not know which treatment is best for which patient. The investigators want to find ways to identify the right drug for the right patient at the right time. This is what personalized medicine is all about.

KIdney aNd blooD prESsure ouTcomes in Childhood Cancer Survivors (CCS)
Recruiting
Background: Childhood cancer survivors (CCS) are at elevated risk of chronic health conditions. Chemotherapies can cause recurrent acute kidney injury which may progress to kidney fibrosis, chronic kidney disease (CKD) or hypertension (HTN). CCS surviving to adulthood are at ≥3 times the risk (vs. non-CCS) for CKD, HTN and lower quality of life. However, the timing of CKD and HTN onset in CCS completing cancer therapy in childhood remains unclear.
Guidelines provide recommendations on managing... Read More
