The state of California currently has 105 active clinical trials seeking participants for Diabetes research studies. These trials are conducted in various cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Sacramento.
Inhaled Insulin vs Rapid-acting Injections for Post-meal Glucose Control in Women With Gestational Diabetes
Recruiting
Pregnant women aged 18-40 with gestational diabetes (GDM) will take part in this study. We want to see how two different insulin treatments affect their blood sugar after they eat. These women usually use a rapid-acting insulin analog (RAA) that's injected to control their blood sugar before and after meals. They will come to the clinic for two meal sessions. For the first meal, we will randomly decide if they will use the usual RAA insulin or a newer inhaled insulin called technosphere insulin... Read More

Dulce Digital 2.0 - Innovative Diabetes Self-Management in the Digital Age
Recruiting
The proposed research, "Dulce Digital 2.0," will evaluate two mHealth adaptions of Project Dulce that are designed to improve digital health literacy, increase underserved individuals' capacity to access and engage with vital digital health information, and in turn, improve clinical and behavioral outcomes in at-risk adults with diabetes. Expanding access to care in populations faced with challenges of low socioeconomic status and health literacy is a step toward reducing health disparities and... Read More

A Randomized Comparison of Stage-Based Care Versus Risk Factor-Based Care for Prevention of Cardiovascular Events
Recruiting
TRANSFORM is a prospective, randomized, open blinded endpoint (PROBE), event-driven, pragmatic trial in patients who are at increased risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular (CV) disease but with no known symptomatic CV disease. The trial tests the hypothesis that a Cleerly Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) Staging System-based care strategy reduces CV events compared with risk factor-based care.

Pilot RCT Evaluating Clinical Outcomes of Using Undermyfork Mobile App With Dexcom G7
Recruiting
This study aims to determine if adding using a mobile diabetes-related health application with CGM device yields significant benefits, contributing to our understanding of the potential advantages and informing future diabetes care practices. The rationale for testing CGM with Undermyfork in individuals with T2D stems from the potential benefits of real-time glucose monitoring and personalized dietary tracking in improving glycemic control and reducing diabetes-related complications. Unlike stan... Read More

Sodium Bicarbonate and Mitochondrial Energetics in Persons With CKD
Recruiting
Skeletal muscle metabolic health is critical for mobility and an underrecognized target of metabolic acidosis in chronic kidney disease. Impaired muscle mitochondrial metabolism underlies poor physical endurance increasing the risk of mobility disability. The proposed project will use precise in vivo tools to study the pathophysiology of poor physical endurance in a clinical trial treating metabolic acidosis among persons living with chronic kidney disease.

Commercial or Open Source Closed Loop Impact on Pregnancy Study
Recruiting
The goal of this observational study is to better understand what happens when pregnant people with type 1 diabetes (T1D) use automated insulin delivery (AID) systems. The main questions this study aims to answer are: * What are the maternal and neonatal outcomes with AID system use in pregnancy? * What are the glycemic outcomes with AID system use in pregnancy? * What are the behavioral and emotional outcomes with AID system use in pregnancy? Researchers will compare pregnant people who use c... Read More
