The goal of this observational study is to determine whether a marker of dead space (the end-tidal to alveolar dead space fraction \[AVDSf\]) is more strongly associated with mortality risk than markers of oxygenation abnormality (oxygenation index) and to determine whether dead space (AVDSf) is an important marker of heterogeneity in the inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) treatment effect for children with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The study aims are: 1. To validate AVDSf for risk stratification of mortality in pediatric ARDS 2. To determine if there is heterogeneity in treatment effect for iNO defined by AVDSf 3. To detect the association between AVDSf and microvascular dysfunction trajectory and whether iNO therapy modifies this association This is a prospective, multicenter observational study of 1260 mechanically ventilated children with moderate to severe ARDS. In a subgroup of 450 children with severe ARDS, longitudinal blood samples will be obtained to measure plasma protein markers. Read Less

The proposed of this randomized, double blinded, placebo-controlled study is to assess the effect of SAMe compared to placebo in patients with alcoholic cirrhosis Child Class A and B. The primary objective of the study is to test relationship between SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine) supplement on liver function. The hypothesis is that SAMe supplement will improve liver function in patients with alcoholic liver disease. The improvement in liver function will lead to the reduction in all-cause mortality in patients with alcoholic cirrhosis in those who receive SAMe supplement when compared to those receiving placebo. The goal of this clinical trial is to explore how working a 4-day schedule impacts nurse manager wellbeing and job performance. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Do those working 4-days have improved wellbeing with reduced levels of burnout and work/family conflict when compared to those in the control group? * Do levels of sleep, heart rate variability, and physical activity significantly differ between those working the 4-day schedule change and those in the control group? * Are nurse manager satisfaction, patient satisfaction, and patient quality outcomes different among those working the 4-day schedule change and those in the control group? Researchers will compare those working the 4-day schedule change to those working the standard 5-day schedule to determine causality between the intervention and the outcomes. Participants will: * Complete an initial visit to learn about the study. * Begin wearing an OURA ring, which will collect data on physical activity, sleep, and heart rate variability. They will need to download the Oura Ring app on their phone and log in weekly to sync data so that the researchers may access it. * Complete the first survey on the online REDCap platform (baseline). * Begin the work schedule that was assigned to them. * Clock in and out of work each shift. * Take the follow-up survey online (month 3). * Take the final survey online (month 6). This is a Phase 1/2, multi-center, open-label basket study designed to evaluate the safety and anti-tumor activity of IDE196 in patients with solid tumors harboring GNAQ or GNA11 (GNAQ/11) mutations or PRKC fusions, including metastatic uveal melanoma (MUM), cutaneous melanoma, colorectal cancer, and other solid tumors. Phase 1 (dose escalation - monotherapy) will assess safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of IDE196 via standard dose escalation scheme and determine the recommended Phase 2 dose. Safety and anti-tumor activity will be assessed in the Phase 2 (dose expansion) part of the study. Phase 1 (dose escalation - binimetib combination) will assess safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of IDE196 and binimetinib via standard dose escalation scheme and determine the recommended Phase 2 dose. Safety and anti-tumor activity will be assessed in the Phase 2 (dose expansion) part of the study. Phase 1 (dose escalation - crizotinib combination) will assess safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of IDE196 and crizotinib via standard dose escalation scheme and determine the recommended Phase 2 dose. A theoretically informed, practical, empirically grounded approach will systematically unpack CBT's working mechanisms, clarify for whom it works, ease dissemination, appeal to patients, providers, payers, and policy makers in the COVID-19 era favoring low resource intensity treatments, and reduce cost and inefficiencies associated with high intensity therapies whose complexity, length, and scarcity restricts uptake and impact.
