Effects of Emicizumab vs. Factor VIII Prophylaxis on Joint and Bone Health in Severe Hemophilia A
Recruiting
The investigators propose to study longitudinal joint and bone density changes in patients with severe Hemophilia A. Per current standard of care, most patients are on prophylactic FVIII replacement therapy intravenously several times weekly with a goal of keeping the trough \>1% FVIII. Recent phase 3 data suggest superior bleed protection with emicizumab prophylaxis every 1-2 weeks. It is the purpose of this study to longitudinally assess joint health and bone density over 3 years and to compar... Read More

Development of a Novel Stress Testing Protocol to Define the Relationship Between Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction and Diastology in Women With Angina But No Evidence of Obstructive Coronary Artery Disease
Recruiting
Microvascular coronary dysfunction (MCD) (abnormities in small blood vessels/arteries in heart) with symptoms of persistent chest pain, primarily impacts women. There are an estimated 2-3 million women in the US with MCD and about 100,000 new cases annually. Recent data from our research group suggests that coronary microvascular disease impairs the way the heart relaxes. This pilot study will attempt to exacerbate this phenotype in an effort to better understand the pathophysiology of the disea... Read More

Heart Disease of the Small Arteries in Women and Men
Recruiting
Women suffer disproportionately than men from Cardiac Syndrome X ( chest pain in the absence of flow limiting coronary artery stenosis). Coronary microvascular disease is hypothesized to mediate chest pain in this syndrome. This disorder of the small heart vessels (arterioles) compared to the large vessels (arteries) is not diagnosed during routine heart catheterization. This results in delays in diagnosis, missed opportunities for treatment, and likely contributes to the increased death rate fr... Read More

Analgesic Efficacy of Anterior Femoral, Genicular and Adductor Canal Nerve Block
Recruiting
Recently, more distal approach to femoral nerve branches (saphenous) in the adductor canal in the medial compartment of the thigh have shown to provide comparable anesthesia and analgesia without quadriceps muscle weakness than traditional femoral nerve blocks (FNB) after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Adductor canal block (ACB) has the unique advantage of providing localized analgesia to the peripatellar and intra-articular aspects of the knee joint without reducing the patient's ability to per... Neostigmine Route for Acute Colonic Pseudo Obstruction
Recruiting
Neostigmine is commonly used for medical treatment of acute colonic pseudo obstruction, however, the ideal route of administration has not been determined. Though IV push works rapidly, it is likely associated with the most side effects. This study will compare the efficacy and side effect profile of 2 potential routes of administration: IV push and subcutaneous.
