Crohn's Disease Clinical Trials in San Diego, CA

Crohn's disease (CD) is a long-lasting disease that causes severe inflammation (redness, swelling), in the digestive tract, most frequently affecting the bowels. It can cause many different symptoms including belly pain, diarrhea, tiredness, and weight loss. Treatments are available but do not work the same for all patients or may stop working over time. This study will evaluate the effectiveness and adverse events of targeted therapies (TaTs) for adult participants with moderate to severe CD. The medicines assessed in this study are risankizumab, ABBV-382 and lutikizumab. When participants join the study, they will be randomized into available study treatment groups. Adult participants with CD will be enrolled. Around 500 participants will be enrolled in the study at approximately 300 sites worldwide. Risankizumab and ABBV-382 are given as an injection under the skin or as an infusion into the vein. Lutikizumab is given as an injection under the skin. Each group includes a 12-week induction period, a 12-week maintenance period, and an optional long-term extension period where medication will be given after the maintenance period. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care treatment without participating in this study. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. The purpose of this protocol is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tulisokibart in participants with moderately to severely active Crohn's disease. Study 1's primary hypotheses are that at least 1 tulisokibart dose level is superior to placebo in the proportion of participants achieving clinical remission per Crohn's Disease Activity Index score (\<150, US/FDA) or per stool frequency and abdominal pain score (EU/EMA) and in the proportion of participants achieving endoscopic response at Week 52 (US/FDA and EU/EMA), and that at least 1 tulisokibart dose level is superior to placebo in the proportion of participants achieving clinical remission per Crohn's Disease Activity Index score (\<150, US/FDA) or per stool frequency and abdominal pain score (EU/EMA) and in the proportion of participants achieving endoscopic response at Week 12 (US/FDA and EU/EMA). Vedolizumab is a medicine that helps to reduce inflammation and pain in the digestive system. In this study, children and teenagers with moderate to severe Crohn's disease will be treated with vedolizumab. The main aim of the study is to check if participants achieve remission after treatment with the vedolizumab. Remission means symptoms improve or disappear and an endoscopy shows no signs of inflammation. Participants will receive 3 infusions of vedolizumab over 6 weeks. Then, those who have a clinical response will receive either a high dose or low dose of vedolizumab once every 8 weeks. They will receive the same dose every time. Read Less

The study is an extension of two parent studies (MLN0002-3024 \[NCT04779307\] and MLN0002-3025 \[NCT04779320\]). Participants must have participated in one of the previous studies. The purpose of this study is to collect the long-term safety of vedolizumab in children with UC or CD. Read Less
