Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) Research Study
Recruiting
If you are identified as eligible for investigational genetic testing, you will be sent a saliva collection kit to your home. Once you have completed and returned your kit to Sano Genetics, your sample will be tested for a specific genetic pathway called BAG3.
Investigational genetic testing can help you better understand your body and its needs, as well as how DCM may be passed down in your family. Those who are identified as having a variant in the BAG3 gene will be referred to an upcoming clinical trial.

Improving Physical Activity With Cognitive Impairment
Recruiting
Individuals with mild cognitive impairment are often physically inactive and at risk for progressing to dementia. Physical inactivity is considered a modifiable risk factor for dementia. Therefore, interventions must be developed to foster sustainable improvement in daily physical activity. To address this problem, our pilot study aims are directed at assessing the feasibility and preliminary improvement of physical activity following the use of a mobile-health technology physical activity behav... Paper-Based and Smartphone-Based Memory Supports
Recruiting
Alzheimer's disease and related dementias lead to marked declines in daily functioning, independence, and quality of life. One of the earliest cognitive changes in these conditions is impairment in prospective memory, or the ability to remember future intentions such as taking medications at a given time. Prior intervention studies that targeted prospective memory used mnemonic strategies or cognitive training, but these approaches resulted in modest gains in clinical populations. By contrast, a... Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to determine whether people with MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment) and healthy comparison subjects differ with respect to their ability to hear soft sounds and how their brain understands and processes sound. The investigators are also evaluating, within those with MCI, whether the hearing tests are associated with neurocognitive functioning. The investigators are interested in learning whether changes in cognition in those with MCI can be detected using tests of how t... Read More
