There are currently 8 active clinical trials seeking participants for Myocardial Ischemia research studies. The states with the highest number of trials for Myocardial Ischemia participants are New York, California, Florida and Texas.
Bright Light Exposure in Critical Ill Patients
Recruiting
Elucidate the influence of intense light therapy pretreatment in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. We hypothesize that intense light exposure is associated with the peripheral stabilization of Per2 in human buccal swabs and plasma samples before surgery and with a decrease of Troponin I levels after surgery. In addition, we hypothesize that light therapy leads to Per2 dependent metabolic optimization in the human cardiac tissue. Therefore, a small piece of human heart tissue from the right at... Effect of Dapagliflozin on Microvascular Function in Women With Symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to test the effects of a drug (in the drug class called sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors) in women who have symptoms of ischemic heart disease. The main questions the study aims to answer are: Does blood flow in the heart improve with study drug? Participants will be randomly assigned to a 12-week course of the study drug, dapagliflozin 10mg, or placebo. Blood flow in the heart will be assessed using stress cardiac magnetic resonance imaging at basel... Read More

Impact of a Corrie Cardiac Rehabilitation Program
Recruiting
In this randomized clinical trial, the researchers are investigating whether a multi-component virtual/hybrid cardiac rehabilitation program will improve functional status, cholesterol level, overall cardiovascular health, individual risk factors, quality of life and mental health for patients who have recently been diagnosed with myocardial infarction, received a coronary stent, underwent heart surgery or catheter-based valve replacement, as compared to usual care.

Smartphone Twelve-Lead ECG Utility In ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction II
Recruiting
AliveCor (www.alivecor.com) has developed several electrocardiogram (ECG) devices that interface with iOS and Android smartphones and tablets via various Kardia apps. The current Kardia family of devices can measure single lead and six limb-lead ECGs, depending on the device. KardiaMobile, KardiaMobile 6L, and KardiaMobile Card have FDA clearance for ECG rhythm recording. A modified single-lead Kardia smartphone 12-lead ECG was previously validated in the multicenter ST LEUIS study for the diagn... Read More

A Single Center Diagnostic, Cross-sectional Study of Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction
Recruiting
Among patients with stable ischemic heart disease who are referred for coronary angiography, a substantial proportion have non-obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD). Ischemia based on symptoms or stress testing may be due to coronary microvascular dysfunction in up to 40% of these patients. However, the mechanisms and optimal treatment of coronary microvascular dysfunction are unknown. Aberrant platelet activity and inflammation have been hypothesized as mechanisms of microvascular dysfuncti... Read More

MRI of Myocardial Infarction
Recruiting
Heart failure (HF) is an enormous health burden affecting approximately 5.1 million people in the US and is the cause of 250,000 deaths each year. Approximately 50% of HF is caused by myocardial ischemia and requires immediate restoration of coronary blood flow to the affected myocardium. However, the success of reperfusion is partly limited by intramyocardial hemorrhage, which is the deposition of intravascular material into the myocardium. Hemorrhagic reperfusion injury has high prevalence and... Read More

Ammonia N-13 Myocardial Blood Flow Absolute Quantification by PET in Patients With Known or Suspected CAD (Ammonia MAP)
Recruiting
This study is being conducted to provide access to and collect test data for an established nuclear medicine diagnostic imaging test called Positron Emission Tomography (PET), using a specific radioactive drug called Ammonia N-13 (Ammonia), referred to simply as an Ammonia PET scan, which is used to visualize the blood flow through the blood vessels and into the heart muscle in order to identify areas of restricted blood flow within the heart. The scanner used in this study may be a stand-alone... Read More

Validation of a Single Rest-Stress Imaging Protocol for Myocardial Perfusion Imaging
Recruiting
We propose a single-scan two-injection myocardial perfusion imaging protocol using ammonia. Subjects will undergo single-scan two-injection imaging as well as regular stress single-scan single-injection protocol and the myocardial blood flow of both techniques will be compared.
