Efficacy of Repeated Low-level Red-light Therapy in Myopia Control
Recruiting
Low-level red-light technology provides a new and innovative myopia control approach. This strategy enables relatively high energies of light to be delivered at much shorter durations of exposure to induce the myopia control effect. The efficacy of the low-level red-light technology has been proven in a Chinese population. This trial demonstrated that 3-minutes per session twice a day repeated low-level red-light treatment controlled 87.7% of refraction progression and 76.8% of axial length elon... Read More

To Study the Effects of Refractive Surgery on OCT Measurements in the Eye
Recruiting
Corrective eye surgeries, such as Lasik, are widely used to correct focusing problems such as myopia, or nearsightedness. Often these patients develop other conditions like myopic maculopathy or glaucoma which require monitoring with optical coherence tomography (OCT). Since OCT is a light-based test and changes the refractive status of the eye (in the cornea or the lens), it can potentially affect the results of the OCT measurements but has not been sufficiently studied. This pilot study aims a... Read More

Microdosed Atropine 0.1% and 0.01% Ophthalmic Solutions for Reduction of Pediatric Myopia Progression
Recruiting
This study evaluates the progression of myopia in participants using microdosed atropine 0.01%, atropine 0.1%, or placebo ophthalmic solution. Eligible subjects will administer study medication daily in each eye for 48 months. Efficacy and safety assessments will be performed at visits scheduled for 1, 6, 12, 18, 24, 30 and 36 months after initiation of medication use. Subjects will be re-randomized at the 36 month visit, then followed at 6 month intervals for an additional year.

Cannabinoid vs Opioid for Photorefractive Keratectomy Pain Control
Recruiting
Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) is a commonly performed corneal refractive surgery but has significant post-operative pain. Pain medications after PRK are typically opioid-acetaminophen combinations. Alternatives to opioid medication are worth consideration. Patients will receive PRK in each eye sequentially, using the cannabinoid or codeine/acetaminophen for one eye and the other treatment for the fellow eye two weeks later.

Swept Source OCT Imaging With the DREAM VG-OCT
Recruiting
The Intalight Dream OCT is the first combo anterior plus posterior device to perform both OCT and OCT-A at depth of 16mm. This is especially useful in patient who are very nearsighted as it allows us to image all in one frame. The intention of this study is to see how the images differ on the same patients when compared to the Cirrus OCT and to test for the repeatability of the images on a single day.
