The goal of this clinical study is to learn more about the study drug, obeldesivir (ODV; GS-5245), and how safe and effective it is in treating nonhospitalized adults with acute respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. The researchers want to see if obeldesivir can help participants' symptoms get better faster. The primary objectives of this study are to evaluate the efficacy of ODV in reducing the duration of symptoms and to evaluate the safety and tolerability of ODV in nonhospitalized adult participants with acute RSV infection. The goal of this clinical study is to learn about the safety and tolerability of bictegravir/lenacapavir (BIC/LEN) and to learn how the study drug interacts with the body in virologically suppressed (VS) children and adolescents with human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) on a stable and complex antiretroviral (ARV) regimen. The study will also assess the safe loading dose of LEN and pharmacokinetics (PK) of BIC/LEN. This study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of VDPHL01 in male subjects with Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA). AGA (or male pattern baldness) is a genetic disorder caused by an excessive (too much) hair follicle response to androgens (hormone) that causes hair loss. VDPHL01 8.5 mg Tablet is an investigational oral drug to treat male pattern baldness. This multi-center, double blind, study will last about 13 months and includes 11 study visits (screening, baseline (day 1), week 2, month 1, month 2, month 4, month 6, month 8, month 10, month 12, month 13). The first 7 visits will be part of the placebo-controlled period. The next 3 visits will be part of the treatment extension phase. Influenza virus is a significant pathogen in pediatric solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients. However, these individuals respond poorly to standard-dose (SD) inactivated influenza vaccine (IIV). Recent studies have investigated two strategies to overcome poor immune responses in SOT recipients: (1) administration of high-dose (HD)-IIV compared to SD-IIV and (2) two doses of SD-IIV compared to one dose of SD-IIV in the same influenza season. One study compared HD-IIV vs. SD-IIV in adult SOT recipients and noted that HD-IIV was safe and more immunogenic; however, the median post-transplant period was 38 months. A phase I pediatric study comparing a single dose of HD-IIV vs. SD-IIV was safe with higher immunogenicity, but the study was limited by small sample size and median post-transplant vaccine administration was 26 months. In another phase II trial of adult SOT recipients, two doses of SD-IIV one month apart compared to one-dose of SD-IIV revealed modestly increased immunogenicity when given at a median of 18 months post-transplant. Therefore, these studies lack both evaluation in the early post-transplant period and substantive pediatric populations. Additionally, the administration of two-doses of HD-IIV in the same influenza season has not been evaluated in pediatric SOT recipients. Thus, the optimal immunization strategy for pediatric SOT recipients less than 24 months post-transplant is unknown. In addition, immunologic predictors and correlates of influenza vaccine immunogenicity in pediatric SOT recipients have not been well-defined. The central hypothesis of our proposal is that pediatric SOT recipients 1-23 months post-transplant who receive two doses of HD-quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (QIV) will have similar safety but higher Hemagglutination Inhibition (HAI) geometric mean titers (GMTs) to influenza antigens compared to pediatric SOT recipients receiving two doses of SD-QIV. This study examines how the immune system responds to the flu virus (H3N2) during and after infection and how the flu virus is transmitted in the environment. The study will used a flu virus called the H3N2 influenza challenge virus which was produced specifically for use in clinical research in controlled conditions. The study will also assess the safety of the H3N2 influenza challenge in healthy subjects. Mild to moderate symptoms are expected based on previous studies with this strain of influenza. Read Less

The goal of the ATX101-TKA-004 clinical trial aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ATX101 1,500 mg in participants undergoing primary unilateral total knee arthroplasty. The study will compare the effectiveness of ATX101 with a saline placebo and bupivacaine, an active comparator. Additionally, it will assess opioid consumption among participants receiving ATX101 versus those given the saline placebo and bupivacaine. This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of Armour Thyroid treatment compared with synthetic T4 in subjects who have primary hypothyroidism and are currently stabilized (i.e., in-range thyroid-stimulating hormone \[TSH\]) on synthetic T4 treatment. The goal of this clinical trial is to test the benefits of beat-accented music stimulation (BMS) for behavioral changes of physical activity (PA) in older adults with subjective memory complaints. Specific Aims are to determine (1) whether BMS beneficially influences PA behaviors and psychological responses to PA in older adults for 6 months, and (2) whether exercising with BMS differently influences physical and cognitive functioning as well as quality of life in older adults.To test the effects of BMS on PA, participants will be randomly assigned to an exercise intervention that either includes BMS or does not include BMS. Participants will attend a supervised group strength training (ST) (30 min/day) and and aerobic exercise (AE) (30-50 min/day) session for 3 days/week for the first 2 months, 1 day/week for the next 2 months (while encouraging participants to independently perform both AE and ST on other days), and independently for the final 2 months (always with a goal of performing \>150min/week AE and 3 days/week of ST for 30 min/day).
