The purpose of this project is to study the effectiveness of teaching teens and young women with Phenylketonuria (PKU) or Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD) about their disease and nutrition related issues in a camp environment. It will also look at pregnancy outcome results in women with PKU who attended Metabolic Camp and compare their results to other women with PKU who have not attended the Metabolic Camp. Read Less

The goal of this clinical study is to look at how lenacapavir (LEN) passes through the body and to assess the safety of LEN and emtricitabine/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (F/TDF) for prevention of HIV in the cisgender women in the US. The primary objectives of this study are: 1) to characterize the pharmacokinetics (PK) of LEN in United States (US) cisgender women; 2) to evaluate the safety of LEN and F/TDF for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in US cisgender women; and 3) to evaluate the general acceptability of LEN injections and oral F/TDF in US cisgender women. This is a multicenter, prospective, randomized clinical trial that aims to assess the safety and efficacy of Aquablation Therapy in men with low-risk to intermediate to high-risk localized prostate cancer who are candidates for, or have opted for, prostatectomy. This early phase I trial compares sodium fluoride F-18 (F-18 NaF) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) to the standard of care imaging scan (and fludeoxyglucose F-18 \[F-18 FDG\] PET/CT) for assessing the effects radiation therapy has on the blood vessels in the neck in patients with head and neck cancers. For people with cancers in the head and neck, doctors often use radiation to target both the tumor and nearby glands. Radiation therapy to this region can affect the blood vessels in the neck that supply blood to the brain. F-18 NaF and F-18 FDG are contrast agents that can be used together with PET/CT imaging to visualize areas inside the body. A PET scan is a procedure in which a small amount of radioactive glucose (sugar) is injected into a vein, and a scanner is used to make detailed, computerized pictures of areas inside the body where the glucose is taken up. A CT scan is a procedure that uses a computer linked to an x-ray machine to make a series of detailed pictures of areas inside the body. The pictures are taken from different angles and are used to create 3-dimensional views of tissues and organs. Combining a PET scan with a CT scan can help make the image easier to interpret. PET/CT scans are hybrid scanners that combine both modalities into a single scan during the same examination. Imaging with F-18 NaF PET/CT may be as effective or more effective than the standard F-18 FDG PET/CT for assessing the effects radiation therapy has on blood vessels in the neck in patients with head and neck cancers. Babies who are born prematurely often develop a chronic lung disease called bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). BPD puts babies at higher risk for problems with growth and development. Diuretics, such as furosemide, are frequently used in the management of early BPD). Many clinicians use informal trials of therapy to see if a baby responds to diuretics in the short-term before starting chronic diuretic therapy. Despite frequent use of diuretics, it is unclear how many babies truly respond to therapy and if there are long-term benefits of diuretic treatment. Designing research studies to figure this out has been challenging. The Pragmatic Research on Diuretic Management in Early BPD (PRIMED) study is a feasibility pilot study to help us get information to design a larger trial of diuretic management for BPD. Key questions this study will answer include: (1) Can we use an N-of-1 trial to determine whether a particular baby responds to furosemide? In an N-of-1 trial, a baby is switched between furosemide and placebo to compare that particular infant's response on and off diuretics. It is a more rigorous approach to the informal trials of therapy that are often conducted in clinical care. We hope to learn how many babies have a short-term response to furosemide ("responders"); (2) how many babies will still be on respiratory support at the end of the N-of-1 trial? This will help us determine how many patients would be eligible to randomize to chronic diuretic therapy in the second phase of the larger trail, and (3) if a baby is identified as a short-term responder, how many parents and physicians would be willing to randomize the baby to chronic diuretics (3 months) versus placebo in the longer trial? This is an open label Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER) study in which patients will be randomized at the site level to Prospera surveillance or EMB surveillance in a 2:1 ratio (Prospera to EMB) at each site. Subjects will be enrolled into the study while under evaluation for heart transplantation or on the transplant waiting list prior to heart transplantation. All subjects will follow the center's standard of care surveillance schedule from transplant through 4 weeks post-transplantation. EMB during this phase is expected to occur roughly weekly or bi-weekly. Study group assignment will take place at randomization. Subjects will be randomized 30 days (± 10 days) post-transplant to Prospera surveillance versus EMB surveillance in a 2:1 ratio. Rejection surveillance (Prospera Group and EMB Group) will be performed at times corresponding to the institutional standard of care schedule for rejection surveillance. Read Less
