Safety, Tolerability, and Efficacy of Immunomodulation With A Monoclonal Antibody Against CD40L in Combination With Transplanted Islet Cells in Adults With Brittle Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1D)
Recruiting
AT-1501 is a monoclonal antibody. Antibodies are Y-shaped proteins that are produced naturally by the subject's immune system to attack and fight foreign substances that cause illness. Monoclonal antibodies are man-made proteins manufactured to serve as substitute antibodies to fight diseases. Monoclonal antibodies can restore, enhance, or mimic (copy) the immune system's attack process; they can also tone down the immune system. AT-1501 is thought to work by dampening down the immune system so... Read More

MegaNatural BP® GSE on Blood Pressure and Cardiometabolic Risk Factors
Recruiting
Inflammation and stressors can interfere with the function of the lining of blood vessels and insulin activity, therefore, investigators are aiming to see how the Grape seed Extract (GSE) called MegaNatural BP can help with limiting the effects of these factors. This research will study the effects of taking 150mg of MegaNatural BP GSE per day on blood pressure levels along with influences on heart health through assessing the function of the blood vessel lining and levels of inflammation.

Effects of Walking in Greenspace and the Built Environment in Adults With Prediabetes: A Randomized Crossover Trial
Recruiting
Approximately 92 million U.S. adults (\~38% of population) have prediabetes (PreD). Because people with PreD are at high risk CMD, they are a target population for diabetes prevention programs. The focus is people with PreD because of their high risk for developing CMD and large numbers, providing an opportunity to investigate behavioral and environmental approaches as preventive measures in a well-defined population. Urbanization affords challenges and opportunities to public health that includ... Read More

Dietary Supplementation on Body Fat Composition
Recruiting
The purpose of the current study is to examine the effects of a dietary supplement containing plant derived phenolics at two different dose levels in otherwise generally healthy adults with risk factors (high BMI at dyslipidemia and/or pre-diabetes) for body fat composition. The primary hypothesis is that supplementation with plant derived phenolics will decrease body fat composition compared to placebo.
