Single-Port Transvesical Partial Prostatectomy Versus High Intensity Focused Ultrasound
Recruiting
This study aims to compare the novel single-port robotic partial prostatectomy to High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) in patients with low to intermediate risk localized prostate cancer. These interventions have become acceptable focal therapies prevalent with beneficial oncologic outcomes and therefore need to be examined further.

Intermittent Fasting Using a Fasting-Mimicking Diet to Improve Prostate Cancer Control and Metabolic Outcomes
Recruiting
This is a Phase 2, randomized two-armed, multi-site study of 138 patients with metastatic castrate sensitive prostate adenocarcinoma. Patients will be randomized 1:1 to receive the fasting mimicking diet, or usual diet. All patients will receive standard of care treatment for their prostate cancer. The fasting mimicking diet will be consumed for 5 days per month for a total of 6 months and will be monitored by trained research dietitians.
This study aims to examine the effects of a fasting mimi... Read More

Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) or (FACBC) PET/CT Site-Directed Therapy for Treatment of Prostate Cancer, Flu-BLAST-PC Study
Recruiting
This phase II trial studies how well prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) or fluciclovine positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) site-directed therapy works for treating patients with prostate cancer. PSMA or fluciclovine PET/CT may detect prostate cancer early and may help to show whether patients benefit from site directed treatment to PET detected abnormalities.

Bipolar Androgen Therapy (BAT) and Radium-223 (RAD) in Metastatic Castration-resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC)
Recruiting
This is a single-arm, multicenter open label, international, phase II study of Bipolar Androgen Therapy (BAT) plus Radium-223 (RAD) in men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Men with mCRPC with progressive disease (radiographically and/or biochemically) who have been treated with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH)-analogue (LHRH agonists/antagonists) continuously or bilateral orchidectomy will be enrolled in this study. Previous antiandrogen therapies are permitted,... Read More

Focal Therapy With Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) for Patients With a Single Prostate Tumor
Recruiting
Background:
The current standard treatment of prostate cancer is either surgery or radiation. Typically, this includes either the removal or radiation of the whole prostate gland. Many people now seek out focal therapy options to decrease the side effects of treatment. Until now, several forms of physical destruction with heat (thermal ablation), cold (cryotherapy), sound waves (HIFU), laser (FLA), and electrical energy (IRE). A new type of radiation (SBRT) may be an effective way to cure men o... Read More

Fluorescent Imaging of Nerves With Illuminare-1 During Surgery
Recruiting
This study will test the safety of using Illuminare-1 during standard surgery for prostate cancer. The study researchers will test increasing doses of Illuminare-1 to find the dose that makes the nerve structures fluoresce (light up) but causes few or mild side effects. When the researchers find this dose, it will be tested in new groups of study participants to see whether surgery performed using Illuminare-1 guidance is better than surgery performed without intraoperative guidance. The researc... Read More

Golimumab and Apalutamide for the Treatment of Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer, TRAMP Study
Recruiting
This phase II trial tests how well golimumab and apalutamide work in treating patients with castration resistant prostate cancer. Golimumab is in a class of medications called tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of TNF, a substance in the body that causes inflammation. Apalutamide is in a class of medications called androgen receptor inhibitors. It works by blocking the effects of androgen (a male reproductive hormone) to stop the growth and spread of cancer c... Nutrition and Exercise Interventions in Reducing Androgen Deprivation Therapy-Induced Obese Frailty in Prostate Cancer Survivors
Recruiting
This trial studies how well nutrition and exercise interventions work in reducing androgen deprivation therapy-induced obese frailty in prostate cancer survivors. Individualized nutrition and exercise advice for prostate cancer patients on androgen deprivation therapy may help to reduce obese frailty and change the levels of myokines in blood.

PSMA-Directed Para-Aortic Radiation Therapy for Oligorecurrent Prostate Cancer
Recruiting
The purpose of this prostate cancer research study is to learn about:
Improving control of prostate cancer using radiation therapy, delivered to the para-aortic and pelvic lymph nodes, in addition to systemic androgen suppression therapy;
Preserving quality of life after radiation therapy;
Leveraging imaging results from prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) scans to evaluate and manage disease progression.

ARCTIC: Liquid Biomarkers in the Prospective Androgen Receptor Signaling Inhibitors (ARSI) Resistance Clinical Trials
Recruiting
This study will follow men with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer throughout their standard of care treatment for their disease to determine if the presence of different genes or proteins can predict which patients respond to the cancer treatment they receive. As tumors grow and begin to spread, they may release cells into patients' bloodstream. These cells are called "circulating tumor cells", or CTCs. CTCs can be used to look for differences in "biomarkers" (genes or proteins tha... Read More

Testing the Effects of Low Dose Apalutamide on Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) Levels in Men Scheduled for Removal of the Prostate Gland
Recruiting
Apalutamide is an anti-androgen that blocks the effect of testosterone on prostate cancer growth. This phase IIa trial is designed to determine whether very low doses of apalutamide, given for 3 to 4 weeks before prostate surgery to men with prostate cancer confined to the prostate gland, reduces plasma levels of PSA (a biomarker of apalutamide's ability to block testosterone). If low dose apalutamide lowers PSA levels in this setting, further study of this agent in men with localized prostate c... Read More

EBRT and HDR Brachytherapy for Unfavorable-intermediate, High, and Very High-risk Prostate Cancer
Recruiting
This study is trying to find out if the combination of Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), MRI guided high dose radiation (HDR) brachytherapy treatment (internal radiation implant procedure) and external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) treatments lead to less side effects. This study is also looking at patient outcomes, quality of life, and overall survival for patients receiving this treatment.
