Optimal Digital Weight Loss Treatment for Rural Individuals (iREACH)

All randomized participants will receive a 6-month online group lifestyle program focused on creating healthy eating and exercise habits, as well as weekly feedback from a trained professional regarding their progress. Participants will be asked to complete follow-up data collection at 2, 6, and 12 months after randomization, consisting of wearing the study-provided Fitbit activity tracker, weighing on the study-provided electronic scale, and completing online questionnaires. For participants who qualify for the study and are randomized, they will receive this weight loss treatment at no cost. We also offer monetary incentives for completing each of the 3 follow-up assessments (a total of $70 is possible).

Time-restricted Eating Versus Daily Continuous Calorie Restriction on Body Weight and Colorectal Cancer Risk Markers

Approximately 42% of American adults are obese, and this condition is strongly related to the development of colorectal cancer. Innovative lifestyle strategies to treat obesity and reduce colorectal cancer risk are critically needed. This research will demonstrate that time-restricted eating, a type of intermittent fasting, is an effective therapy to help obese individuals reduce and control their body weight and prevent the development of colorectal cancer.

Food Cravings Strategies During Dietary Weight Loss

The purpose is to optimize the EMPOWER program by integrating strategies to reduce food cravings, a critical yet often overlooked factor for long-term success in weight management.
The objective of this study is to determine the efficacy of craving coping strategies on weight loss outcomes by conducting a randomized controlled trial. Participants will be randomized to receive one of the two strategies to manage food cravings.
