Preventing Persistent Post-Surgical Pain and Dysfunction
Recruiting
Primary Aim: To examine the superior efficacy of ACT versus Attention Control (AC) on postoperative pain intensity and functioning in at-risk Veterans undergoing TKA. Changes in pain intensity and functioning from baseline to 6 weeks, 3 months and 6 months post-TKA will be compared. Level of pain intensity will be measured using the BPI Pain Severity Subscale and level of functioning will be measured using the KOOS Activities of Daily Living and Quality Of Life Subscales. Secondary Aims: A) To... Read More

Ketamine Alcohol (in Treatment-Resistant Depression)
Recruiting
A single subanesthetic dose infusion of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist ketamine has rapid and robust antidepressant effects in patients with treatment-refractory major depressive disorder (TRD). A family history of an alcohol use disorder (Family History Positive, FHP) is one of the strongest identified predictors of an improved antidepressant response to ketamine. Like ketamine, alcohol is a functional NMDA receptor antagonist. FHP is associated with differential response t... Read More

University of Iowa Interventional Psychiatry Service Patient Registry
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of interventional/procedural therapies for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). These treatments include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), racemic ketamine infusion and intranasal esketamine insufflation. The investigators will obtain various indicators, or biomarkers, of a depressed individuals' state before, during, and/or after these treatments. Such biomarkers... Read More

Pilot Study of Mothers and Babies Online in Home Visiting
Recruiting
The investigators propose a pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) that examines how the redesigned version of Mothers and Babies Online (eMB) can be delivered in the context of home visiting (HV) programs that serve pregnant individuals and new mothers across the United States. The PI, Dr. Darius Tandon (Northwestern University), has conducted extensive research on the in-person Mothers and Babies (MB) intervention with HV programs and has received interest from one of the largest HV models-Pa...
